I spent some time over the weekend re-arranging my makeup collection, it's nowhere near as fun as it sounds! One of the principal objectives was to make my eyeshadows more accessible. For a long time my MAC 15 pan palette has been at the bottom of a drawer underneath lots of other palettes and consequently it has been neglected. Now that my palette has been released from it's hiding place, I thought it was time to revisit some of my old eyeshadows.
I have included brushes in my product pictures today. I did this in honour of Delicate Hummingbird who is still missing in action. I always love the detail in her face of the day posts and you can consider this a (really poor) homage. Come back soon DH!

It probably looks and sounds like a strange combination of colours but I like how it turned out. I've always liked how Trax's appearance changes according to the other colours that it is paired with. I'm still on the fence about the MAC Studio Sculpt foundation. The coverage is much heavier than I'm used to and the colour isn't perfect however, it gives a more flawless finish than any of my other bases and doesn't look cakey. The Adesign flat topped brush was recently sent to me for review. I normally wouldn't mention something so early on in my review process but this is becoming a fast favourite. It works really well with my W3LL People Narcissist foundation too.

Me likey. Very pretty. I don't have Trax. I must swatch it when next instore!
ReplyDeleteThanks Yinka! Trax seems to be a bit like marmite so I'll be keen to hear what you make of it.
DeleteI really like wearing Trax on top of a purple base as it really makes it pop. You look fab by the way, glowing!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I haven't made the 'plum pop' in a while. What is your favourite base to use it with?
DeleteTrax looks lovely, have never seen this colour before. I will have to check it out. x
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling I picked this up at a CCO. It's a little sheer but it's a real chameleon x
DeleteThis is a lovely look on you I must say, I particularly love the cheek colour. This post, because its a Mac based title, feels really old school, In a good way! I was like oooh look a Mac post! A very lovely look.
ReplyDeleteIt's kinda retro, isn't it? I'm glad you liked it. I feel like I'm revisiting my roots ;)
DeleteI have to do this today! I just got a new foundation and blush and like them both so much anything else foundation & blush wise in my make up bag are going into a draw. Same reason, will mean more room and easier access for eyeshadows. My bag always starts off so neat and with just essentials every time I do this and then just becomes full up again lol.
ReplyDeleteLove the colour combos with your eyeshadows. x
It's so easy for it to get out of control! Good luck with the streamlining :D x
Deletehehe it's gone well and is staying well for now, it looks weird without all the clutter...I still have a lot of make up in there apparently ;)
DeleteJane you look Gorgeous. I love this combo on you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Imo, glad you like it :)
DeleteOooh, I love this look Jane! I also have both the Well People products and I find that a dense brush works brilliantly with them (I use the new-ish Shiseido foundation brush).
ReplyDeleteThe combination looks incredibly flattering on you :)
Nina x
Thanks Nina, it's good to hear that you apply the well in a similar way. I'm really loving this new brush! x
DeleteThat's a lovely look and thnk it would look nice with my blue eyes! However, my eyes are really sore these days and I need to leave the eye make up alone to see what it might be that's causing the trouble ;-(
ReplyDeleteI look like a naked mole rat without mascara lol!
AX
Oh no, would a bit of vaseline on your lashes help to make you feel less naked? I hope your eyes feel more comfortable soon. It's sounds unpleasant x
DeleteIt's very pretty! I too like Trax quite a bit. I use Studio Sculpt, well sometimes, as it was recommended when I had my make up done by the MAC MUA due to my dry skin, but I have to say I find I prefer Bourjois 10 hour sleep effect (not such heavy coverage though) as SS still tends to cake on me sometimes when my skin is bad. I usually tend to use both swirled together on the back of my hand.
ReplyDeleteI can imagine the SS feeling a little uncomfortable on dry skin as it definitely has a 'heavy' feel. Mixing it sounds like a good idea. I will give that a try. Good to hear from another Trax fan!
DeleteYou look amazing, beautiful look!!!
ReplyDeleteOn another note, what's going on lately? You lost Delicate Hummingbird, lipglossiping lost Lhasa, is there a wormhole for taupe/mauves I should b prepared for??? :D
xx
LOL, it's Delicate Hummingbird the blogger not the eyeshadow that has gone missing. Has Charlotte lost Lhasa? Oh no, I feel like we need to have a memorial for all the missing taupes out there! xx
DeleteThank you :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you pulled that poor palette out of the pit because this look is to die for!
ReplyDeleteYou look really pretty, the eye look is a delight, I'm trying to think if I have any colours I can use to recreate that xx
