We practiced quite a lot of product layering to create different textures on the BECCA course and I was inspired to give this a go on the eyes using Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Colour in Patina as a base. Patina applies as quite a yellow based green on my eyes and I wanted to temper the yellow a bit, so I applied the silvery grey-green from the Come One, Come All Kaleidoscope. I put some of the peach just above the crease but in retrospect, I probably should have given this a miss!
I'm trying to get into the habit of curling my lashes. I still need to improve my technique some more as I frequently end up with a right angle rather than a curl and more bend in the centre of the eye, rather than the outer corner where I really need it. I find curling them before using the Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume mascara* does make them look more dramatic and I get better separation if I use the bristles at the tip of the wand.
Here are the products that I used for this look...
Face
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser in Finland
Perricone MD No Concealer Concealer*
BECCA Shimmering Powder in Nefertiti
MAC Cubic Blusher
Shu Uemura brow pencil H9 Seal Brown
Lips
Lancome Rouge in Love lipstick in Rose Thé*
Eyes
Shiseido Patina applied with finger tips just passed the crease
Kevyn Aucoin Basic Black liner along the lashline*
The taupey grey colour from the LMdB Come One, Come All Kaleidoscope applied over Patina and the black liner
The peach shade from Come One, Come All applied above the crease
Kevyn Aucoin Lash Curlers*
Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume mascara*

Oh my you look so beautiful here Jane - my favourite makeup look on you ever! Is the NARS amazing or is your skin ultra perfect at the moment? It looks so velvety.
ReplyDeleteEyes, blusher, lipstick - all gorgeous too. I love this kind of look that is subtle but defined.
Nic x
Thank you so much Nic, I was pleased with how it turned out. As I said in my tweet to you, I really like the NARS tinted moisturiser particularly because it has an SPF of 30. It does get quite shiny as the day wears on though, so it won't suit everyone.
DeleteRe: my skin, I don't know if it's anything that I'm doing? I got a lot of comments about my skin on the course, I can't see it and I'm critical of it. However, I know well enough to be grateful that it mostly behaves itself! xx
Gorgeous colors on you, Jane, you're looking absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I'm pleased you like it. Doing this course has renewed my love of playing with makeup, as I was feeling in a rut. Did you find your style changed after your Pixiwoo course?
DeleteBeautiful FOTD. I love the Nara tinted moisturizer. I also wear Finland and just posted about it in my July favorites post.
ReplyDeleteThanks Meredith. I'll have to go and had a read of your favourites post. I love the NARS TM and I haven't been using anything else for the last couple of months.
Deletelove the Lancome Rouge in Love lipstick! Might have to buy this shade
ReplyDeleteIt is a lovely lipstick. I'm not usually a big peachy nude wearer but I really like this one.
DeleteI like it! Dammit, now I have to get Shiseido Patina too1
ReplyDeleteOops I meant too! not tool! I feel like a tool now!
ReplyDeleteHahahaaa!! Patina is really nice and makes an excellent base.
DeleteI love that whole look--you look beautiful! And I have been wanting pretty much everything you used on your face (Nars tinted moisturizer, Perricone No Concealer Concealer, Becca Shimmering Powder, and Shu brow pencil), so this post just sealed the deal. Need all of them asap! :D
ReplyDeleteOoh, that's spooky! The one thing I will say is that it's worth trying the NARS TM before buying. My skin becomes quite shiny during the day when I wear it but I put up with this because I like the coverage and the SPF. It's probably best suited to drier skin types. I hope that's useful info?
DeleteHm...that is exactly what I was afraid of with the Nars TM, but I kept reading reviews on how it was great for oily skin too--that's why I wanted to try it (my skin is VERY oily). Maybe I will skip it for now and come back to it come winter. That was helpful, thank you! :D
DeleteLOVE this. Love it. You look fantastic. I have been dying to try the NaRS Tinted Moisturiser and now I think it will be a part of an early birthday present to myself- along with Patina.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Happy early birthday! :D
DeleteThat's a lovely look, Jane. I love how the Shiseido Patina looks like a more subtle Abbysinian Catbird. I need to get into the habit of using my e/s palette colors individually. The kaleidoscope colors looks beautiful with the Patina. I never tried the Clinique mascaras and this one looks very pretty and not over the top!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jane. You've made me wonder how AC would look like layered over Patina. The Clinique mascara is nice and I suspect that my weedy lashes belie the fact that this is actually quite a dramatic mascara!
DeleteI was going to mention your skin too Jane, it looks beautiful
ReplyDeleteThanks Claire :)
DeleteLovely taupe eye shadow. I really like how you match the greeny taupe with a peach blush. I'm curious about the coverage for Perricone MD No Concealer Concealer. Would you recommend it for light coverage or heavy? I love the dispensing glass jar format it comes in.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue Lin. I think it would be best to describe the No Concealer Concealer as light to medium coverage. A little goes a very long way though and I only need the tiniest dot to do my undereye. It's very easy to overdo the dispensing when you first start using it.
Deletewell the whole look is just lush, you look radiant xx
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you! I will definitely do this combination again xx
DeleteLovely look! The Patina makes the LMdB shades look even more gorgeous!
