Rather than make the post overwhelming by commenting on each brush, I will simply name the brushes pictured and provide links to previous reviews where possible. Hopefully it will help me identify any brushes that I haven't reviewed yet. Also, if there are any which you would like me to discuss in more detail or compare you can put a request in the comments.
Previously I had my brushes split between the handmade brush roll I bought from asoftblackstar's Etsy Store and a glass vase. The brushes in the vase were often neglected and I was fed up of having to clean them because they had collected dust. I bought this Stilazzi mesh bag from Cocktail Cosmetics (as modelled by my furry helper) to store the brushes from the vase in order to keep them clean and tidy, and also to allow me to store them in the plastic drawer unit I keep my makeup in. I have the STZ-027M mesh bag and it fits my brushes perfectly but the bags are available in a variety of sizes.
The brushes in the picture above all fit in the Stilazzi bag. The Rouge Bunny Rouge Contour and Blusher brushes don't normally live in there as I keep these loose in my drawers with my face products. I managed to miss a couple of other brushes as they are also slotted into my storage drawers or hidden in makeup bags such as my Le Metier Concealer Brush and my short handled MAC 213 Fluffy Brush. Otherwise this is better much a complete collection.

Listing everything and looking for links highlights the fact that I have a few reviews outstanding. I was certain that I had reviewing the Rouge Bunny Rouge Blusher brush before but it seems I was mistaken. Both the Hakuhodo B214BkSL and G5552 also warrant further mention.
I shall leave you will a picture of my furry friend enjoying the brushes (just before he started to eat them). Do let me know if there are any brushes which you would like to know more about.
Disclosure: The brushes shown here are a mixture of those bought by me and sent for review.
Oh MB how I have dreaded this post ever since you first mentioned it. Your collection is breathtaking, I have so few brushes, I am experiencing major brush envy. My collection is miniscule compared to yours.
ReplyDeleteHow long did it take you to build up such a large collection? You have disclosed that you bought some brushes but not others, even then it must have cost you a fortune.
I've been buying brushes for about 4-5 years. It started with a MAC holiday set (all the ones with short handles in the pictures) and it's grown from there.
DeleteI've been quite lucky with some of my brush purchases. Quite a few of the more expensive MAC brushes were bought from the CCO shops and a couple were also snapped up in blog sales. I bought the Louise Young brush in a 20% off sale and received the eyeliner brush as a GWP. But yes, I've probably spent a small fortune. My justification of choice is that they should outlast the makeup!
What is a CCO shop?
DeleteIt's an Estee Lauder Cosmetic Company Store/Outlet. They sell items from the EL Umbrella (MAC, Clinique, EL, Bobbi Brown, Origins etc.) at discounted price. A lot of the items are from limited edition collections that didn't sell out but there are bargains to be had! I have two near me: one at Bicester Village and one in Swindon. The rest are listed here.
DeleteI love your brush collection! It's so neat and clean. And I just want to reach out and scritch that kitteh belleh.
ReplyDeleteHarry came over all floozy when I got the brushes out! I realised that I'm similar to you in that I can get away without the lid brushes that often. This is a rare moment when the MAC 239's are white and not taupe ;)
DeleteBrush envy like Claire above. I have couple of Space NK brushes and they are very good - have you tried them?
ReplyDeleteI've not tried the SpaceNK brushes before but I have looked at them online. I'll have to have a play next time I'm in Henley. Not that I need any more brushes of course...*looks shifty*
DeleteGreat brush collection and your cat is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteBeauty Fiends blog
Thank you BF!
DeleteIncredible collection! As others have said, major brush envy here...
ReplyDeleteThanks Sam. It just keeps on growing. I really don't think I need any more but then I see something and my sensible side vanishes!!
DeleteDrool worthy collection. I have always wanted one of Lotus's brush rolls and makeup bags! Do you love it?
ReplyDeleteHi Lola! Yes, I love my brush roll and would definitely recommend it. It's really well made and I love the patterns in Lotus's shop.
DeleteI suspected that you would say that-- add another "want" or "need" to my ever-growing list!!
DeleteIt's one lemming I definitely wouldn't feel guilty about as mine has been a really worthwhile investment ;)
DeleteBut you give me sooooo many lemmings!! :-) This is definitely on my list!
DeleteGorgeous cat!!!
ReplyDeleteFantastic collection of brushes, I've only recently started using brushes and there are so many shapes to choose from- it's exciting!
Must make a visit to Bicester and also investigate The London Brush Co- love the shape of #17.
Hey Mopsy! I've not been to the CCO in Bicester for ages. I ought to go in sometime to see what they have these days. They always used to have a small bucket filled with brushes and I'd love investigating.
Delete...Awwww! jfdsklajfa I'm too distracted by the kitty to comment on the brushes.
ReplyDeleteHaha!! Harry will be very flattered :D
DeleteI love your collection! and your cat as well.
ReplyDeleteI have few brush collections.
Is it really essential to have all these pretty brushes to come up with a good make up look? =)
Hi Reena, no definitely not essential to have this many brushes. I just enjoy collecting them ;)
DeleteOoh I see, keep up with the collection, I'm inspired to start one too. =)
DeleteHi, this is Matt from Stilazzi. Thanks for including us in your review, glad you like the mesh bag. As a brush enthusiast, you should give some of our brushes a try. Cocktail Cosmetics has them in stock and I am sure that you will find them to be of great quality!
