March Madness

I thought I ought to write a quick post to explain my recent blogging absence. Without me really intending to, I've managed to take a couple of weeks off.

March tends to be a busy month for us but this year seems to have been busier than usual. So far I've had my parents to stay, celebrated my birthday, Mother's Day, missed my blogging anniversary, painted four rooms and a hallway, had some lovely friends to visit and survived a really upsetting assessment appointment for one of my children. I've also attended my first event in ages, volunteered myself for some fundraising work at nursery and had a brief dalliance with the idea of being an Avon lady. There's been tears and laughter but not much time for writing and the never ending bad weather hasn't helped much either.

New
New purchases

Although it's been busy, makeup and skin care hasn't been entirely forgotten. I've bought a few new bits recently and I've also started trialling some PR samples for review. I'm still focusing on using things up: the Avene Anti-Rougeurs moisturiser is my most recent empty and I'm really close to finishing the Emma Hardie Cleansing Balm, Live Native Exfoliating Cleanser and Pai Rice Plant & Rosemary BioAffinty Tonic. So there are definitely plenty of posts in the offing, I also have pictures and swatches ready for a little taupe eyeshadow comparison (see sneak peek below). Hopefully I can ignore the call of the paint brush long enough to get some writing to go with the pictures!

Have you had a good March so far? Any new good purchases to share?

  1. Wow! Painted 4 rooms and a hallway, that is impressive. It takes me an eternity to get around to painting any part of my house. I am impressed.

I am looking forward to your comments on the Super Facialist moisturiser because recently I also purchased that - will keep quiet for now!

I thought of you when I looked at the KS swatches of the Burberry quads, some loveliies there.

    1. I can't decide whether I ought to look at the Burberry quad swatches or not. I have been so good about buying things that I need for the house (my birthday money went on curtains and paint) rather than for my face but the urge never entirely goes away!

I still haven't opened the Super Facialist yet but I'm looking forward to trying it. I'm also very keen to try the Suti cleanser, I just need to finish off a couple more things before I will allow myself a purchase :D.

  2. I'm sorry to hear about the assessment, really hope things pick up for you.
I'm impressed with your painting, decorating upsets me, we bought that less toxic paint and it kinda goes on like water xx

    1. I made a complaint about the assessment and this resulted in some much needed reassurance. I honestly couldn't face coming away without a diagnosis again.

I need to finish off the decorating but I decided to give myself a few days off. My hands were quite a mess after all the painting. You know, I never would have thought about trying less toxic paint. I think I would get very frustrated with the watery texture though. Once I've finished off all the walls and ceilings, I have to move on to the woodwork. Boooooooo! xx

    1. The SkinCeuticals Redness Neutraliser is a nice texture but I need a little longer to see if I'm really getting a significant reduction in redness. I must remember to have a look in the mirror next time I have a glass of wine to see if I still get the telltale flush!

  4. You were way more productive than I can ever hope to be! I'm sorry that the assessment was such a terrible experience.
:) Always looking forward to your new posts!

    1. The painting seemed to work well as a way of distracting me from the impending assessment meeting. I got stuck into the hall after I returned home in a bad mood from the meeting too! Hopefully something will motivate me to finish the rest of it very soon.

  5. Sorry to hear you've had a rubbish March, lets hope April will be a better month! I am really looking forward to hearing your thoughts about the Blue Plasma. I am using this at the moment & just not sure what my own thoughts are on it!:)
