A FOTD with MAC Style Snob and Club

I thought I'd share this face of the day from yesterday, as I was really pleased with how the eyes turned out. It was a bit of a random pairing of two of my well loved MAC eyeshadows, I've already mentioned MAC Club quite a few times but I don't think I've shared Style Snob before other than in swatch comparisons. Unfortunately, it is one of those 'taupes you can't have', unless of course you're lucky and find one in a blog sale.

I started off with a base of Le Metier de Beaute Dualistic pencil in Champagne smudged over the mobile lid. Despite the name, this is a lovely matte taupe colour. I find it lacks definition as a liner but it's excellent used like a paint pot. I patted Style Snob on top of the Champagne base, blended out at the crease and then pushed Club along the lashline, concentrating on the outer third of my eye.

Apologies in advance for the hair band. I'm dithering over whether to stick or twist with the short hair. As much as I love short hair, I don't love regular trips to the hairdressers...

    1. Thanks Trona. I really love the blusher from the Hourglass duo and I've been wearing it paired with Coy lipgloss a lot recently.

    1. I take this a huge compliment Replica, I always think I'm too sloppy with my blending xx

  3. Style Snob is one of my favorite eyeshadows. It is the only shadow I've ever used up in the last few years and my second one has a huge hole in it. I never thought to pair it with Club but I will now!!

    1. I am really impressed that you've worked through almost two pans Marcia. That's love indeed when you a hefty rotation of eyeshadows. This is one I really wish they would re-release!

  5. What a wonderfully fresh yet polished look. I don't have the 2 MAC eyeshadows you used, but I have everything else (plus plenty of taupe shadow options) so I'm going to try to recreate your look. Thanks for the inspiration. You look lovely!

    1. Thank you Sam, how did you get on with your recreation? I'd love to know which taupe you opted for!

    2. I ended up trying this twice--the first time with Kjaer Weis Wisdom, the second with RBR Solstice H. Both shadows worked well. The big difference for me was a change in blush: while I loved the look of the Hourglass duo on you, it didn't look as nice one me. So the second time I recreated your look I used RBR Gracilis instead (which I bought based on your helpful advice; it's wonderful.). Thanks again for the inspiration!

    3. Oh, that sounds lovely Sam. I do love Gracilis and I'm really pleased to hear you like it too. Thanks to you, I will be getting Kjaer Weis Wisdom out tomorrow :D
