Laura Mercier Mystere Duo Applied

The Laura Mercier Mystere eyeshadow duo was gifted to me by a kind friend a little while ago. I gave its first outing last weekend whilst I had a bit of time to play with my makeup in peace. As I often find that deep blues don't look as vibrant on the eye as they do in the pan, I applied over a dark base. On this occasion, I chose the liner end of the BECCA Line + Illuminate in Belize which is black with a hint of violet. I was really pleased with how rich the blue from Mystere looked over the liner but looking back I wished I had taken the colour all the way up to the crease.

To finish, I applied the taupe colour where the blue ends to soften the line and took it up the the crease. I lined the upper waterline with Kevyn Aucoin Basic Back and added plenty of mascara, I think it was Max Factor False Lash Effect in this case.

    1. Thanks Gaelle. I've only just done my makeup (lazy Sunday) and picked out Dogon thanks to your comment. It's one of my favourite nars duos :D

    1. Thanks Debbie. I really am a big fan of rich blues and greens and it's nice to have a play when I have a little time.

  3. Oh what an excellent review. I saw this duo and loved the colours so was gutted to read a negative review on another blog, did you think it blended well? Good to see you are getting through your use up goods!

    1. Hi Claire, I have a suspicion that the review you're thinking of is how I came by this duo ;). I can't really comment on the performance as I went straight to layering it and pressed the colour on rather than blending it, knowing that might be an issue.

    1. Thank you so much C. I was so pleased it worked well over the BECCA liner, I'll definitely do that again. I know that one is not 'supposed' to wear blue with blue eyes but my eye colour seems to change according to what I wear and I love this colour pairing xx
