My Current (Random) Wishlist

I honestly thought I would have loads of extra time for posting now that Miss MB is at nursery two mornings a week. I was clearly delusional! The six hours I gained were swiftly eaten up with cleaning the house and other unsavoury chores. My spending money has taken a battering too with the nursery fees to pay, leaving me with very little to spend on the 'pretties'.

So, to cheer myself up, I thought I would compile a little wishlist. I can see that there has been a definite shift in my spending habits lately as my list is a mix of beauty and other things. Wonders never cease!

navy converse
Navy Converse
This is actually a bit of a lie. What I really want are a pair of the Catwomen Converse but sense (and the school run) tell me the navy would be a better investment. After years of avoiding navy, my wardrobe seems to be full of it, so I really do require some footwear that isn't black.

Illamasqua Magnetism lipstick
I have been crushing on this lipstick for ages. I knew I had to have it when I first heard the description and then London MakeUp Girl's tweet sealed the deal. I may wait till it's available through ASOS.

Lotus Wei

Lotus Wei Inner Peace Energy Mist
I came across the Lotus Wei mists and elixirs when I visited the Content Beauty store over the summer. The names sound so appealing and I've lost count of how many times I've wished I had the Inner Peace mist in the last week. The return to school has been bumpy to say the least!

Trollbeads
I finally purchased a bracelet to put my beads on. I bought the leather bracelet in beige and my two beads look rather lonely on it. I'd really like to get some more artisan made beads and I have been stalking Summerday's store on Dawanda and Suzielaws's store on Etsy for the last month or so.

Ilia Lipstick in Ink Pot
I know I probably don't need any more lipsticks but when I spied this via the ILIA beauty e-newsletter, it grabbed me (look to the bottom right of the mood board). I'm positive this is the shade that Sasha's Mum recommended I keep my eyes peeled for too. What's not to love about purple?!

More Kjaer Weis
I've wanted to buy some more Kjaer Weis pieces for ages. On my shopping list are the Blossoming cream blusher and eyeshadow in Charming. I imagine I will purchase both in the pan form. If you're in the UK, you can buy Kjaer Weis from Slowfashionhouse.com

pirates

Pirates: An Adventure with Scientist on DVD
I am a child and I am not ashamed!!

Care to share what's on your wishlist at the moment?

  1. I really like the look of the Catwoman Converse. I don't have a pair of Converse but these are very tempting.

    1. I wear my Converse until they fall apart. Up until my last pair (which seemed a bit on the small side), I've always found them really comfortable for walking. I'm seriously tempted to get the Catwoman ones :D

  2. Those Catwoman Converse look super--get them! You don't need navy! ;)

As for Kjaer Weis Blossoming, do be sure to compare it in person (if you can find somewhere to do so) with Lovely. I have Blossoming but wish I had Lovely; and I believe Grace at London Makeup Girl prefers Lovely, too (but do double-check with her--I'd hate to speak incorrectly for her!). Lovely brightens the face so nicely. Definitely worth a look, if you get a chance.

    All that said--great list!

    1. Hello :) I do prefer Lovely for myself - it's a clearer, cooler pink which works better for my colouring. Blossoming is pretty, but a softer, warmer pink.

    2. Thanks Sam. There's nowhere that sells Kjaer Weis in the UK anymore. I will go back and check Grace's comparison swatches of Blossoming and Lovely. Because I do sometimes suffer with high colour in my cheeks, I tend to always go for the more muted shades so I think this why I was leaning towards Blossoming. I definitely need to double check though!

  3. BUY THE CATWOMAN ONES. That's an actual order. If you want them, get them - they're fun and they're on your feet: it's not like you're wearing a midriff baring top or something. *

*Any mummies of our age who can still rock a midriff bearing top - I salute you and rock on.**

**Both of these pieces of advice come from someone who happily wears space leggings. On the bright side, I live my own advice.

    1. Yes, you're right. I should go for it, midriff bearing is definitely out (shudders) but I still need to make little statements where I can! I love your space leggings :D

  4. Those Catwoman shoes are awesome! And very, very tempting....
I am crushing on the Guerlain holiday eye palette which is positively sumptuous, some vintage Shalimar extrait (just seven shades of gorgeous), MAC lipstick in See Sheer and a day at Nirvana Spa as it has been entirely too long since my last visit ( and none of the aah factor is lost getting home as I live so close by)!
My main crushes of late are housewares - Lakeland and Hobbycraft just suck me in whenever I am near- as we have just moved house and will be doing lots of decorating. Hello, John Lewis Home in High Wycombe!

    1. The decorating and buying new homewares sounds great! I keep meaning to pay Lakeland in Bicester a visit, I desperately need a new potato masher that is not bobbins!!

I'm going to have to look up MAC See Sheer now.

  5. Loving the list Jane! In common with you I am lusting after Magnetism and some KW, Magnetism might be a runner but sadly expenditure in other areas prevent indulgence in KW!

I got a couple of Bex samples with my recent Zuneta order and I positively seek out my EC2 sample which is unusual because I am not a perfume kind of girl. One for the Christmas list maybe.

    1. Oooh, I've not had an samples of the Bex fragrances. You've piqued my interest now. I'm tempted to buy the Illamasqua lipstick whist they're doing free postage this weekend. I can't remember if the Illa website does Paypal though. I must check!

  6. I want cords from M&S in every single colour, oh and the owl eyeshadow palette.

    1. The owl eyeshadow palette looks very cute but I was a bit disappointed to see from Lipglossiping's review that the pigmentation is really variable. Are the cords from M&S good?

  7. Was too tired the other night to comment on this post too, I came back to say I got to the Illamasqua shop and picked up Magnetism the other day, along with Naked Rose and Creator. I didn't know about the free postage this weekend till I checked the nail varnish name just now. Still haven't worked out why I can't get the newsletter to my main email address.

Didn't see the Bat Woman converse the other night either - Think they are a must!

  8. I'm on the look out for a new pair of Converse and am thinking navy blue as it's probably the most practical Converse colour and I know I'd wear them loads!
