Simple Pleasure: My Shower Routine
Sometimes, it really is about the little things. I'm not really a morning person but the products above are currently combining to lift my mood before I step out of the shower.
Firstly, the Rahua Shampoo and Conditioner. I really hesitated over this purchase because of the cost but the products are so highly recommended, I had to give them a try. As promised, you don't need to use a lot to get the desired results and I'm thrilled to report that the shampoo foams and rinses away completely, which is something I've had trouble with previously with other SLS free formulas. I really like the smell too which is always a bonus.
The Live Native Essential Earth Exfoliating Cleanser* has a really unusual texture and looks a little strange. To use, you scoop out a small blob of the paste and mix with water to get the desired consistency. I prefer to use it in the shower as it creates less mess. It's recommended that you use a press and roll type action with it but I confess, I tried this and failed and resorted to my more usual massaging in large slow circles method. This works just fine for me and I think of it as my little cave woman moment!
I bought the Haus of Gloi Spring Tonic #1 Whipped Soap with my Valentine's order and it has sat patiently in a drawer ever since. I've not tried any of the whipped soaps before but I love the texture. It feels a bit like a very creamy shaving foam (the tradition variety). The Spring Tonic #1 scent is refreshingly zesty without being overpowering which is perfect for my grumpy morning self.
What are the simple pleasure in your morning routine?

Oh, what a nice post! Loved reading it, I still have to try Rahua, but just ordered some other shampoo, mainly Philop Kingsley. x
ReplyDeleteThanks Marina, I'm glad you enjoyed it. The Rahua is really nice, my hair feels a bit more textured with it but feels quite thick and lustrous too. It's a great formula for a 'natural' shampoo x
DeleteI think my simple pleasure in the morning is not having to get out of bed at a particular time. I am a definite early bird and hate lying in bed while the morning slips away but not being woken by a mechanical alarm (vs a child!) is lovely.
ReplyDeleteUsually I am up by 6.30 but if I am feeling really tired I can stay in bed until 8 and just about get the kids to school on time. Lazy Mummy!
I'm ALWAYS a lazy Mummy! I really wish I could be up and energised first thing but I'm really a night owl. This is regrettable with a child that never sleeps though. I'm impressed that you can get up at 8 and still get to school on time :D
DeleteSchool is about a 2 minute drive. We don't get rush hour 'in these parts'! An 8 o'clock lie in just might possibly sometimes involve nightie tucked into sweatpants, open car door and kids run in by themselves. Sometimes it's okay, isn't it?
DeleteI am regularly asleep on the sofa by 10! Hopeless at night.
Love HoG!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely shower routine, indeed! xx
ReplyDeleteI've always wondered about the Rahua line. I've been tempted a few times but I've stopped myself because of the price. Have you tried the leave-in treatment?
ReplyDeleteFor me the best part of my shower routine is using any of the "Le Petit Marseillais" shower gels that I bring back from France - every time I go and see my mom, I come back with at least four bottles! My favorite being the orange blossom one, closely followed by the lemon verbena one.
