RBR Gracilis and Pink Blusher Comparison

Rouge Bunny Rouge Gracilis is one of three cheek products that I have been rotating for the past couple of months. The other two are Hourglass Aura Cheek Stain in Rouge and Daniel Sandler Watercolour blush in Pop, and I quite often layer Gracilis over Pop. All three of these are very easy for me to wear and have a nice face brightening effect but Gracilis is probably my favourite for speed.

Gracilis has a very nice, soft (but not powdery) texture and gives a delicate wash of colour. I find the colour melds with my skin in a similar sort of way to the Watercolour and the Hourglass Cheek Stain, which is unusual for a powder.

I mentioned in my favourites post a couple of weeks ago that I had some comparison swatches to share. I'm not 100% happy with the pictures because of the lighting but I decided to post what I have with the intention of updating them when I finally get some good daylight. I do hope the pictures are useful, even if they're not perfect.

This blusher came from the Rouge Bunny Rouge Online Boutique and I purchased it using a voucher sent to me by the brand. I notice that they have quite a nice offer for Valentine's Day, you can choose any of their Sheer Lipsticks free with orders over €50. As you probably already know, my favourite sheer is Murmurings. Rouge Bunny Rouge products are also available from Zuneta.

Disclosure: I ordered Gracilis using a voucher sent to me by Rouge Bunny Rouge. The links are included for information only and are not affiliate links.

  2. I'm hesitating between suqqu botaniro and RBR gracilis. How is the texture of the suqqu one? I have another suqqu duo, momozoe, and I find the blush side of it quite powdery. I would love to know how is the texture of botaniro. Thank you

    1. I prefer the texture of Gracilis to Botaniro. The Suqqu is more powdery, quite sheer and it a little sparkle to it which the RBR does not. The are both pretty but Gracilis would be my recommendation.

    2. Thanks! I was leaning toward the suqqu because the brush inside their compacts, although small, is very soft and convenient when travelling, but now you've changed my mind:)

  3. Gracilis is such a pretty colour. I think it would be really flattering on most.

Will have a look at the Daniel Sandler colour now. I don't have any of his products but have been tempted by Charm another of his cheek colours.

Hope health in your house improves as the day goes on.

    1. I have a feeling that Pop was a limited edition colour, my apologies if it is no longer available. I'd quite like to get another of the Watercolour blushes, do you think I might like Charm? I'll see if I can find a swatch.

Many thanks for the well wishes. I've been dispensing a lot of Calpol and Ibuprofen over the last 24 hours! Mind you, getting them to have medicine is a lot simpler than giving tablets to the cat!!

  4. Oh goody! I've been looking forward to your Gracilis review ever since you mentioned it a month or so ago. I'm very tempted by Gracilis, but I'm wondering: is it similar to Nars Douceur? For some reason that one doesn't quite work for me even though in general I love similar blush colors. Thanks, as ever, for your help with this.

    1. Gracilis isn't all that similar to Douceur both in terms of colour and texture. I would say that Douceur is more of a beige pink whereas Gracilis is a brighter, more clear pink. Douceur is also very 'hard baked' and I found it very hard to get any sort of colour pay off with it.

I don't have Douceur anymore to do a direct comparison but I did a comparison to my other RBR blusher, Delicata (post here). If you would like to see a comparison of Gracilis and Delicata side by side, let me know :)

    2. I'm glad to hear Gracilis is a brighter/clearer pink; that's just what I'm looking for. And I totally agree: Douceur is a misery to work with in order to get much color pay off. (Perhaps not such a bad thing as I don't love it anyway ;)

Thanks for your offer of comparison swatches of Gracilis and Douceur. Happily, your description has made clear to me the differences between them. Which means I'm ready to click the "purchase" button on Gracilis. Many thanks! (Tho my wallet is grumbling, because of course I really can't order just one RBR product, can I?)

  5. I promised not to buy blush and I've been "close" to keeping that promise but your picture of Gracilis might make it dangerous to continue with the promise.
