W3LL People Nudist Lip Shine #2 Review

The more I get to know W3LL People products, the more I like. I was keen to try their Nudist Lip Shine formula after reading London Makeup Girl's review of shade #3 (Grace has also featured  shade #8 recently). The colour I have here is shade #2 which is a sheer damson purple. Unfortunately, I think my camera lets me down a little as it appears more plummy in a couple of the pictures than it truly is. This is more goth than ladylike wine! The colour that you can see through the packaging in the picture below is a good representation.

Strangely, I didn't spot the shimmer until I took this close up photograph. I wouldn't describe it as shimmery but the micro-shimmer adds to the shiny appearance when applied.

W3LL People products are free of parabens, petrochemicals and preservatives. The lip shines contain pomegranate, beeswax and green tea. It has an unusual scent. I can never quite put my finger on it; my nose picks up menthol which I think is the interpretation of the beeswax and green tea combined.

This lip shine has quite a 'stiff' texture in a similar way that I described for the matte Universalist stick #5. It takes a couple of passes over the lips (or my skin) to get it moving. I have a feeling this has a slightly different texture to the other shades, I can see from Grace's pictures that the bullets of #5 and #8 look a lot more glossy and balm like than #2. I think this stick might benefit from being carried in my pocket to warm it up a bit.

I think the colour and texture are well suited to the season. Although this doesn't have a traditional balm-like feel, it does feel nourishing and almost like a protective barrier on my lips. The moisturising layer remains even when the colour has faded. I don't experience uneven wear with this either which is good news for a darker colour.

I'm not sure whether this picture showing the colour in the context of my face helps very much (my apologies for the blotchy skin). I think it demonstrates the shine and the slightly sheer quality but unfortunately I think the colour is a little off. My camera doesn't seem to want to pick up the blue in this shade.
