On the lust list this week...

With so many fabulous bloggers guesting on Zuneta recently, I felt it would be rude not to have a browse! The brand name Rouge Bunny Rouge has cropped up a few times now and although I knew I shouldn't look, I couldn't help it.

Well, their cosmetics look flipping gorgeous. I love the packaging and the names as well as the beautiful colours. It is really expensive though so I know that if I get anything it will have to just be one (or maybe two!) pieces. Herein lies the problem. What should I get, a staple lipstick or a gorgeous blush? Or should I be looking at their eyeshadows? What a quandry.

'Scrumptiously delicious' lipstick, described as a cool lavender-pink with golden opalescence sounds....well....delicious! As does 'Nothing Unknown', described as a nude-beige base with ash-mauve opalescence. In the blushes, I'm rather fancying Gracilis, partly for the name and partly for the colour! Even the mirrors look cute. I think this one definitely needs more research before I commit to buying. I love researching the must-haves and hunting down swatches so it's no hardship!

So, I'd love to know what item do you buy when you are new to a brand? Do you always go for a lipstick? Do you pick a wearable colour or hunt down a totally unique piece? Also, if anyone has any recommendations I'd love to hear them.

  1. Hi,
I normally start with eyeshadow when I am new to a brand. I have quite a lof of RBR so you can have a look at my pictures/swatches if that helps. I would say to start with a RBR lipstick and eyeshadow.

  2. Thanks Replica, I shall have a look at your swatches now :). Is there one thing in particular that you love and could recommend? Thank you so much for your reply.

  5. Thank you so much, I'd be hugely grateful for your advice as I've been deliberating all day on an order!

I was thinking of getting Delicate Hummingbird - I have (and love) Satin Taupe, Style Snob and Flirty Number. The swatch you did makes me think I'd really like it. I was also eyeing up Solstice Halycon, Electrifying Storm Petrel and Chestnut-napped Apalis.

The lipstick, I'm a bit more unsure on. I was thinking Irreverence would be could for me. The only concern was having seen London Girl's lip swatch I wasn't sure if it was too much like MAC's Modesty. I always go for mid tone pinks! Do you think Irreverence is more brown than pink toned?

I think I'm going to order an Hourgloss lipgloss too. I keep trying to choose between two and not getting anywhere. I have a feeling this is going to be a costly affair!

  6. Hi,

I have satin taupe and style snob, delicate hummingbird is more of a plum shade, its cool toned and I use it as a crease shade and have paired if with style snob on the lid.
If you like your taupes, Solstice Halcyon is a great one to have, has a slight mauve hue to it.
Chestnut-napped Apalis is a another great neutral to have, although probably not as exiciting as the shimmery shades, depending on how much you are getting I'd go for DH and/or SH,they pair quite well together actually.
I've not got Electrifying Storm-Petrel but it was a shade I was thinking of getting, would be great for a smoky look.
I don't think Irreverence is more brown toned, but there is a bit there I'd say its more rosey than pink, I had Modesty but got rid of it as it was a bit warm on me. If you want straight up pinky toned shades though I'd go for watch out eve or tonque tickles.

I do really like the hourgloss lipglosses, will be interested to see what you go for x

  7. Thank you so, so much for the help. In the end I have gone for delicate hummingbird and Irreverence. I'm pretty sure that I'll end up buying more eyeshadows, Solstice sounds lovely so I think it's first on my to purchase next time list. I'm pleased to hear that Irreverence is more brown toned. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it is similar but not exactly the same as any of my other lipsticks. I'm terrible for ending up with loads of the same shade!

I couldn't decide on the lipglosses so obviously just got both! I've ordered Ignite and Origami. Origami is a break from the norm for me as it looks like quite a bubblegum pink. But I reasoned, as I keep looking at these shades in lipsticks but not daring, a gloss might be a better way to go. The swatches on the old Zuneta blog certainly looked enticing!

Thanks again, I really enjoyed your guesting on Zuneta by the way. The duo's look very appealing x

  8. I'll look forward to seeing what you think of them when you get them. I'm always buying similer shades, I must have so many pinky/brown lipsticks and taupe eyeshadows!
