A Blogging Holiday

I've been dabbling with the idea of taking a week off from blogging for a little while. It feels a bit dramatic to announce it but I know if I don't make it official, I won't stick to it. Plus, I feel strange about suddenly not posting without letting you know what's going on.

I'm feeling really drained at the moment: teaching a two year old to go to sleep on their own and not sneak into your bed at night inevitable means no sleep for everyone else! I know the battle will be worth it in the end of course. It's been a very long time since a full nights sleep was a routine occurrence. Blogging feels like hard work when I'm so tired and there's nothing that kills my blogging mojo more than feeling like I HAVE to write.

I do feel a little guilty about taking time off. I have plenty to write about but I need some time to relax and recharge my batteries. Oh, and catch up on the housework (just in case Mr. MB's reading). We all need a holiday now and again and I'm sure writing will be much easier when I feel better rested too.

So, I hope you will forgive me a little pause. I'll be back at the end of next week, renewed and refreshed. I will also be posting the Beauty Spotlight Roundup over the weekend as normal. Because I can't leave a post without picture, here's a look at how the boys look in today's Book Week dress up.

  1. Very cute! Enjoy a break and rest up. I know the lack of sleep. I feel like I haven't had a good night's sleep in the past nine months. Even though this baby sleeps all night, he still drops out his pacifier at least once or twice and needs it back. Add to that a potty training grumpy 3 year old. One day we will sleep again, right?

    1. Oh goodness, that sounds like even harder work. I don't look forward to potty training again. Miss MB has only slept through a handful of times, the boys were completely different and I think I was more disciplined too. I'm sure we'll sleep again eventually. Probably at the stage when they refuse to get out of bed! ;)

  3. Feet up and drink gin! Enjoy your week and don't worry, we will all wait. In no time at all your 2 yr old will be going out at 10pm with a face full of slap, a wallet full of cash and no likelihood of being back home before 7am! It's bliss, even if she does insist on sharing my bottle of wine before she goes out! xx

    1. Dude! We're meant to be making her feel better, not making her sob at the thought of 16 years time ;)

      MB, enjoy your break. x

    2. Wine sharing??!!! Debbie, I don't know if that's more horrifying than no sleep! ;)

Thanks Grace. I'm going to be twitchy I'm sure but I'm looking forward to catching up on a bit of reading and film watching. I might even get round to playing with some makeup again!

    1. Thanks Nuria. I have to admit it's getting harder to juggle everything the older they get. A rest will definitely do me good though I know I'll miss writing.

    2. Hello,
Thanks you, its Sunday, was yours the 3rd or 5th? Hope you have a lovely day as well.
I've had most of my presents already, I did give my husband a makeup list but not sure I'll get anything on it! The problem is I know I been bought some hotel chocolat but I'll have to open it up in front of the little man and you know thats not going to go well, as it is I've had to buy him balloons, party hats etc for Sunday as he said we are having a birthday together and needing them for our party, wow partying with a 3 year old, I really am the definition of a party animal..... ;)

  12. Your boys are so adorable. I love the looks on their faces. Good luck with training your two year old. I think that's why I'm happy to be the grandma and not the mom now! And have a happy happy birthday.

  13. Take the time you need and don't worry: we'll all be here when you're back!
Sometimes even a hobby can feel like a chore, so a break is perfectly understandable, if not neccessary!
