Behind the scenes at Yardley London

This month sees the first Yardley advertising campaign in 16 years to launch their the new Bath & Body Skincare range. I confess, I don't actually thought it wasn't as recently as that even and my memories of Yardley products are very much attached to my Grandma. The house I will be staying in on holiday still has some very old bottles of Yardley talc that my Mum can't bring herself to part with.

The dresses in the campaign reflect the fragrances and packaging of the new products. They were created by Petra Storrs by adding individual silk flowers to white crepe. I think my favourite is the Rose & Peony dress below.

Yardley+Rose+Peony

Makeup artist Karen Adler created a 60's style make for the models which is a nod to her own memory of the Yardley old ads. You can see her talk about the looks in the video below and you also get a peek at the pain staking work involved in creating those dresses.

I have to admit when I was watching the video, I couldn't help feeling those girls were probably freezing! I think there's quite an art to striking a pose when you're covered in goose pimples.

The Bath & Body range is available in five fragrances: the classic English Lavender, Lily of the Valley, English Rose, Peony and the new fragrance Royal English Daisy. Stockists include Boots, Morrisons, Lloyds as well as www.yardleylondon.co.uk.

  2. Very pretty, I think they will always have that image though, and its not a brand I would buy for myself, I bought my nan some of their stuff for Christmas as she loves it.
I often think it must be a bit boring standing/waiting around all the time being a model, good thing I wasn't blessed with good looks! xx
