Sometimes my eyeshadow and nail polish purchasing ban seems like a good thing, other times it can feel like a terrible mistake. Sharing this news whilst simultaneously not being able to purchase any of it, is probably one of the lowest points. With that little pity party out of the way, let's enjoy some pictures of the new loveliness from Rouge Bunny Rouge.
Behold the Eyeshadow Keepers. These customisable palettes will be available in two and three pan versions and there will be a choice of nine eyeshadow refill pans to fit them: six new colours and three current bestsellers. I believe more eyeshadows will be available as refills in the near future.
Although I can't be 100% certain, this looks like it will be a magnetised system so you might be able depot singles you already own and add a magnet to slot them in. That's if you can bear to deface the pretty pots of course, it sounds a lot like cosmetic vandalism to me (gives Everyday Beauty a side long look)! EDIT: The pans for the palette will actually be slightly smaller than the single pots (I knew I should have checked the weights) so you won't be able to depot.
On to the new eyeshadow colours...
The new colours that really grab me are Olive Violeteare and Bohemian Waxwing. I'm sure that Trumpeter Koel would look great as a liner too.
The three current eyeshadow that will be available in pan form are: Abyssinian Catbird, Solstice Halcyon and Unforgettable Oriole. I already own Abyssinian Catbird and Solstice Halcyon which allowed me to check the accuracy of the promotional images. They look pretty spot on to me so I feel confident that the new colours will look as shown above.
As excited as I am by the new colours, if I was able to make a purchase, Unforgettable Oriole would definitely be on my list. It's rare that I buy light shimmery colours but I like the RBR formula very much and I feel this is something lacking in my collection.
When they do roll out more of the eyeshadows in pan form, I hope that they include some of the matte eyeshadows. I think that would be perfect for making a really versatile custom palette. Of course, when and if that happens we'll all be demanding bigger Eyeshadow Keepers!
The Eyeshadow Keepers will cost £12 for the duo and £15 for the trio. The eyeshadow pans will cost £16. All of these items will be available from Zuneta from tomorrow. Are you plotting a purchase?
I absolutely love that they decided to come out out with these palettes.. I just wish they had made bigger ones as well!
ReplyDeleteLilac Reef Curassow and Golden Rhea are calling my name, but they're all absolutely beautiful!
I'd love a bigger size! Of course it would give me excuses to buy even more. Post ban, of course ;)
DeleteI am a RBR virgin and I am sorely tempted. The packaging and colours are glorious.
ReplyDeleteI still get as much joy from RBR purchases as I did that very first time. Promise to come and tell me about any purchases if you do go for it!
DeleteI will definitely get some of the new eyeshadow pans tomorrow. Better not be sold out!! ;) Unforgettable Oriole is one of my faves. You need it too! ;)
ReplyDeleteI've been pondering Unforgettable Oriole for a while. Thank you very much for confirming that it's a must have :D
DeleteI too am a RBR virgin, but I've admired from afar for a while. I think this may just push me over the edge, but it's another week until payday. Hope they don't sell out too quickly!
ReplyDeleteHi Gillian, at least with RBR nothing is limited edition, so it still be there waiting come pay-day. I suppose everything will still be there when my ban ends too!
Delete*puts hands over eyes* I really didn't need to see this. You are going to tell me they are magnificent, aren't you?
ReplyDeleteI can't comment on the new things but I do love my RBR eyeshadows. If I wasn't on a ban, I'd be all over Zuneta tomorrow :D
DeleteSince Solstice Halcyon has been out of stock for so long (*pines*) I've been filling the empty space in my heart (or makeup vanity) with way way too many eyeshadows. I don't know how I can justify any more eyeshadow purchases even though I'm dying to get my hands on these lovelies.
ReplyDeleteDo you think one can have too many beautiful taupey lovelies? Is this a fair question to ask?
From one Jane to another, I suspect I am not the person to ask about having too many taupey lovelies!! :D
DeleteArgh! I literally snoozed and lost! I am secret glad that sleeping allowed me to keep my wallet in tact. I suspect I may never get my grubby paws on SH. Maybe I am sad too? All this eye shadow conflict is wearing me down.
DeleteHow will I resist? I want the new bronze, olive and gold. And that's just the start of what I want.
ReplyDeleteResistance is futile! I'm cursing myself for not asking my husband about the possibility of a 'gift' before he left for work.
DeleteHas anyone found these on Zuneta yet? I've just been having a look and I can't find them :(
ReplyDeleteHi Gillian, Zuneta normally release new collections on Friday afternoons so I wouldn't expect them to be on until after lunch. Are you signed up for their newsletters? If so, keep an eye out for the email.
DeleteThanks MB! I am signed up, so I'll keep a look out, and I'll be ready after lunch! I've decided to only go for Solstice Halcyon at the moment as I've been wanting that for ages, and the rest can wait until pay-day. Whilst looking around on Zuneta, as you do, I've found the RBR blush wands, so I think I'm going to order one of those in the hope it may be like the Nars Multiple, minus the glitter!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds very sensible. I have one of the blush wands and I can promise no glitter! I have a feeling that the Multiples are drier in texture too but I might be wrong as I've only ever tried the RBR. Which colour are you going for?
DeleteI meant to say before that if you keep your eye on the 'What's New?' section on Zuneta (just below shop products) you might spot the items being added before the email goes out. I know I shouldn't be looking but it would be a lie to say that I haven't checked at least once today ;)
I'm going to go for the Vermeer. It looks kind of peachy pink, but it's really quite difficult to tell from the website. I've googled for swatches and it looks nice, but I guess I'll find out when it gets here!
DeleteThanks for the 'What's new?' tip, I shall keep checking back. It's so good of you to keep us all informed when you're not able to shop for yourself yet. Amazing self-discipline! How much longer to go on your ban?
I've always been tempted by Vermeer, I think that Visionary Beauty, London MakeUp Girl, Lipstick Rules and Marcia at Beauty Info Zone all have it if you need more swatches.
DeleteYou're welcome for the info, if only I did feel disciplined though. I'm hoping to live vicariously through everyone's purchases!
Just a quick heads up in case you haven't seen my post update. The pans for the palettes will be a little smaller than the ones in the eyeshadow pots. I should have realised this from both the price and weight. I thought this would be useful for any of you planning a purchase today.
ReplyDeleteOrder for Solstice Halcyon and blush wand in Vermeer now placed. Also ordered samples of RBR Sketches on Water and LMDB flawless foundation. Can't wait! Thanks for the heads up on this, I would never have known about it otherwise :)
ReplyDeleteI have been eyeing this brand for a while, now seems to be a good time to jump in with all the new eye colors. I like the earthy tones and wearability.
