Lancôme Rouge in Love Collection & Emma Watson PA

Rouge In Love w Logo

Emma Watson will be making a public appearance at 4.30pm tomorrow (10th February) in Selfridges, Oxford Street to launch the new Lancôme Rouge in Love collection. I think Emma is a great choice as the face for Lancôme and I'm certainly interested in the new range of lipsticks, but it's tricky to know exactly who the PA is going to appeal to. Of course, it's wrong of me to assume that Harry Potter fans can't be fans of makeup too and I suppose a younger face is likely to introduce a whole new generation to the brand. I'd probably be making my way to the counter after the crowds had died down to take a look at the new lipsticks and nail colours but that's because I'm notoriously rubbish at shopping in crowds!

There are 24 lipstick in the Rouge in Love collection which are divided into 3 colour groups: Jolis Matins - light, sheer, easy to wear shades, Boudoir Time - punchy colours with silvery and white pearl particles and Tonight is My Night - seductive shades infused with golden pearl particles for an intense shine.

Rouge in Love
Left - Midnight Rose, Right - Rose Sulfureuse

I don't know if this is revealing more that I ought to but of the 24 shades, the 2 that I am most drawn to are Midnight Rose (#377N) and Rose Sulfureuse (#379N) both from the 'Tonight is My Night' colour family. I love the look of Violette Coquette (#381B) too, a vibrant violet colour, I'm not sure that I'm bold enough to carry it off though. I looked for the shade Delicate Lace (#217M) that Charleston Girl blogged about but couldn't spot it, so I'm unsure if we have a different selection of shades to the US release.

Aquamarine

The Vernis in Love nail colours share the same groupings as the lipsticks and there are 20 shades altogether, ranging from milky nudes to striking brights. They promise fade-resistance, gloss shine colour. If these have the same formula as the nail varnishes from the 29, Saint Honoré collection I will be a very happy lady as these are one of the few formulas that will last on my crummy nails! I have my eye on Aquamarine (#501B).

The Rouge in Love collection is currently exclusive to Selfridges (and online from the Lancôme website) but will be available nationwide from 1st April. The lipsticks are priced £21 and nail varnishes £12.

New Glasses and Other Ramblings

I thought I'd share a picture of my new glasses with you. As predicted, I don't love them! I said to the sales assistant that helped me (the one that wanted me to look like Penfold in the teenage specs) that I felt the shaping on the top had a touch of the Dame Edna's. I still think that's the case, I prefer the top of my frames to be a straight rather than curved. However, they are narrower than my other pair and I do like the colour.

In other news, I need to do something with my hair. I coloured it the other day (post to come) and I'm really happy with the colour but I need to make a decision as to whether I'm growing it or whether it needs cutting shorter again. The Keratin treatment is definitely fading now so it looks increasingly messy and needs sharpening up. The post baby re-growth is very untidy around my hairline. I'm very indecisive when it comes to my hair though so don't expect a rapid decision!

Whilst I'm rambling on I thought I would mention some shopping news. Illamasqua now accepts Paypal. Brilliant news in my opinion. I love it when online shops accept Paypal as it means I don't have to use the Credit Card I share with my husband. I'm sure you understand what I'm getting at here! Also, Chanel and MAC launched on Selfridges.com on Friday. I believe they will stock all of MAC's permanent line as well as the collections. This will be really handy if you fancy shopping for a few different brands in the one order.

If you're a fan of Rouge Bunny Rouge products you might like to enter the contest on Zuneta's facebook page. Guess which eleven RBR products were used in the Celestial face chart to be in with a chance to win RBR Mattifying primer and Raven Glaze Lacquer Liner.

I hope you're all having a good Monday and didn't get too wet on the way in to work.

Fashion's Night Out at Selfridges

Selfridges is going to be taking part in Vogue's Fashion's Night Out. On 8th September, the Oxford Street store will be open until 10pm and will play host to an exciting, Vogue inspired, list of events for the evening. There are a number of exciting Fashion events, including the launch of fashion concept; Lucy in Disguise, a new Mulberry Boutique, a Walking in Heels masterclass and a make your own Havaianas booth!

For me, the most exciting part is the veritable feast of beauty events going on! On the Ground floor, Chanel will be launching their limited edition Khaki Nail Lacquer Collection, which I mentioned here. On the night, you will be able to get an application of the polishes by Chanel's top manicurists.

Dior will be offering a complimentary manicure using 'Bronze Libertine' as seen on the Dior A/W catwalk. You can also get a makeover inspired by Dior Catwalk looks. For a redeemable booking fee of £50, you could be treated to a manicure by non-other than Leighton Denny, together with a makeover from the Dior experts.

YSL will be introducing their new lipstick range, Rouge Pur Couture and on the Armani counter, Cesar Santos will be making a personal appearance and hosting a masterclass on the new Night Shades. They will also be serving champagne and chocolates at the counter!

On the 3rd floor, you can enjoy an instant colour update with NARS International make up artists. NARS will be pre-launching the new Pure Matte lipstick exclusive to Selfridges. You will be able to find your perfect shade and get a complimentary application of a matching nail polish.

The Manchester Exchange Store will also be marking Fashion's Night Out with a series of events. Henry Holland will be hosting a cocktail event in the Moët and Chandon bar, as well as launching a new House of Holland pop up shop within the store.

To find out more about the nights events and find details of the times and locations, you can find a comprehensive list of the special events here on the Selfridges website.

Lancome Teint Miracle Sample

Lancome has a new foundation coming out called Teint Miracle. It's due for Nationwide release on 1st September. If you would like to try it, Lancome are offering a free 7 day trial sample at the moment (UK and R.O.I. only I'm afraid). I found out about this via Twitter and wanted to share with you as I got my sample on Thursday. I love offers like this as all too often you need to try foundations before you buy.  To get your personalised voucher, follow the link on their facebook page here. Fill in your details, print out your voucher and present it at any Lancome counter. You will be colour matched and provided with a vial which contains enough for at least 7 applications.

It's a lovely foundation and I've already posted a picture of me wearing it in my latest FOTD. The texture is light and it provides a nice coverage, I'd say it's probably light to medium. It's light reflective and gives a lovely glow to the skin without looking shiny or unnatural.

Teint Miracle is also available to buy online exclusively from www.selfridges.com at the moment.

YSL Rock and Baroque at Selfridges

I spotted the new YSL nail duo's during my visit to Selfridges on Saturday. I was intrigued but as a manicure inept I wasn't sure how I'd get on trying to apply them! British Beauty Blogger posted yesterday with some guidance on how to apply them for a perfect finish.

Selfridges will be celebrating the launch of the Rock and Baroque collection with a Pop up Nail, Eye and Lip Bar and I think this would be the ideal time to give the nail duos a try. The collection, which is available now, also includes six Rouge Volupté Perle Lipsticks. You can see pictures of the entire collection here on www.temptalia.com. The pop up bar will be running from 5-18th August and costs £15, which is redeemable against any purchases. To book a visit you can call the YSL counter on 020 7318 1358.

What do you think to the nail duos, do you think you'll be giving them a try?

Suqqu Lilac Allure Anniversary Set

I was very excited when my doorbell rang yesterday and realised it was my package from Selfridges. I was so excited in fact that I refused to open the package until I was alone to give it the special treatment it deserved! Inside, in lovely packaging, was the Lilac Allure Anniversary set from Suqqu
as well as the Shu Uemura eyebrow pencil I've been after such a long time.

Photobucket

Photobucket

The set contains blend eyeshadow EX-07, a soft case for the quad, Dual gloss colours EX-03, a retractable lip brush, Mini mascara (volume long) and a gorgeous small makeup bag. The gloss pot contains a mauve and a peach gloss. I didn't manage to get any swatches unfortunately as they didn't show up very well on camera.

Photobucket

The make up bag is lovely and was a surprise addition. I don't think it's mentioned in the detais. It's a pinky-lilac, has a hand strap and some really handy little compartments. I think it will make a great travel make up bag.

Photobucket

The eyeshadow colours in the Blend EX-07 were a bit of a surprise too. With the exception of the highlight shade, they weren't what I had expected based on their appearance in the pan. The colour I was expecting to be a matte lilac (1) is a sheer, icy pink with shimmer. The 'taupe' (2) is a sheer, shimmery champagne and the shade that looks like a plummy brown in the pan (3), is much darker swatched and looks like a smokey plum.

Photobucket

I tried to do some swatches but I apologies as the colours aren't brilliant. As they are sheer, even layered they are hard to see. I will try again to see if I can capture them. It will be interesting to see how they work on the eye. I am a little nervy with such shimmery colours but as they are quite sheer I should be ok. I'll post a FOTD using the colours very soon.

The Suqqu Lilac Allure Anniversary set priced £65 and is available Selfridges in London and Birmingham. Details of the Anniversary event can be found here.
