Aaah...Kneipp!

I have been patiently bidding my time for the children to go to sleep tonight so I can enjoy a bit of 'me' time. A combination of pains as I get used to running, walking to work and standing up for a several hours at a time during exams has left my body very sore. There's only one thing I can focus on at the moment and that is getting into a hot bath for a soak. I'm taking this little bundle up with me.

Kneipp+Pure+Bliss2

The Pure Bliss range is designed to create a sense of well-being and relaxation using essential oils. My first experience of the Kneipp Pure Bliss Mineral Bath Salts was after my inaugural Couch to 5K run. I knew my knees and hips would hurt afterwards and the salt bath really helped the aches as well as helping me relax. I also feel that it prevented me from feeling as stiff the next day and I'm hoping it will do the same for me this evening.

There is an extra special bonus about the bath salts that I discovered the first time I used them. The salts turn the water poppy red. I realise I sound like a five year old now but jumping into bright red bath water is a lot of fun!

Back to the serious stuff. Kneipp bath products contain no parabens, paraffin, silicone or mineral oils. Not that I have one but the bath salts are also Whirlpool friendly. You will need to give the bath a quick rinse out after using the bath salts but I found the residual salts did rinse away very easily.

As well as the Mineral Bath Salts, I have been using the Pure Bliss shower gel for several weeks now. I really enjoy the scent: it's feminine without being overpowering and doesn't clash with other products that I use. It has a gentle lather and I find it leaves my skin clean without striping.

Right, I am off to run my bath and marvel at the red water whilst soaking my weary bones. I might even take a medicinal glass of wine with me! Kneipp products are available from www.victoriahealth.com, www.beautynaturals.com and other independent chemists. The Pure Bliss shower gel costs £4.45 and the Mineral Bath Salt costs £1.95 for a 60g sachet or £7.95 for a 500g jar.

    1. It took so long for them to fall asleep last night that I had to postpone. I will be marching them up very early tonight to ensure it doesn't happen again!

    1. Thank you! Kneipp products are definitely worth hunting out, especially if you like a soak in the bath.

  3. Hi! I realise this is off topic here, but I did say I'd let you know what I thought of RBR Umber Firefinch when it arrived. Well, it has arrived ... and it's not for me I'm afraid. It has the same lovely buttery texture as the other RBRs that I have, but it's just too cool for my complexion. When I apply and blend it out it actually looks quite grey on me, but I think that's just my colouring, as I make greys look blue (!). I think I should have gone for Bejewelled Skylark instead. Oh well, lesson learned, and I know what I'll be ordering when pay day comes around! :) x

    1. Hi Gillian! Thanks so much for coming back and telling me your thoughts on Umber Firefinch. What a shame it's not been a winner for you. I have to admit, it was the hardest one to judge from the online swatch. Bejewelled Skylark is a lovely rich colour and I hope you have more success with it than UF x

  4. I love this too! I'm German and this is my favourite bath product. Well, I guess triggering an addiction is to be expected of a product smelling like poppy and hemp. :D

    1. Hi Julia. You're absolutely right about the poppy and hemp, I guess we should be surprised it's so addictive! I've been ignoring all my other shower gels in favour of the pure bliss :D

  5. I have tried their products before. This honestly sounds really good right now. I suffer from shoulder and neck pains from extensive computer use. I will see if I can find this around me. Thanks:)

    1. Hi Rola, I remember the shoulder and neck pains well from computer work. It can be painful to uncurl at the end of the day. I've had a little look on their US website and they do have a store locator here - http://site.kneippus.com/locate/. If not, I think they do sell online.

    3. Hi there,

I love Kneipp too, and after reading your notes above, I would highly recommend you try the Arnica range from Kneipp - it's absolutely amazing for tired aching joints and muscles.

Also, if you are still in need of a good nights sleep then try the Valerian & Hops herbal bath - (if you have children that like to stay up late then perhaps add a couple of drops to their bedtime bath too! ;-)

Both these items are sold online at:

      Enjoy xxx
