Omorovicza Balancing Moisturiser and the Radiance Renewal Serum

The name Omorovicza has been popping up on radar quite a lot recently. My perception of the brand was of luxurious skincare without any of the ridiculous claims that seem so popular these days. If you promise me more radiant, supple skin without suggesting I'm going to look 10 years younger or that I'm applying botox in a jar, I'm a happy lady. So, when approached, I was very keen to see how the brand would match up to my expectations.

The products I was sent to try are the Radiance Renewal Serum and Balancing Moisturiser. As you can see, there has been much attention to detail in the presentation and packaging. I like that both the serum and moisturiser come with a pump dispenser. In the case of the moisturiser, I find it best to depress the pump slowly to dispense the exact amount that I require, as a full pump is more than I need for both my face and neck. Although I have been using these products for a month, I've still got plenty left as you can see in the pictures. They are expensive items and probably more than I would normally spend on skincare, but it's clear that they will last a good while.

The serum has a nice fluid-gel consistency and is easy to spread. I find it sinks into my skin without leaving a film. The Balancing Moisturiser has a really light texture and I find it very hydrating. It's a little thicker than a lotion and feels really fresh and cooling when applied. Both of the products have a fresh 'cologne' like scent which I enjoy.

I discovered that the serum and moisturiser have very compatible textures and I will confess to pumping them both out together and mixing them between my fingers in order to apply in a single step. I find that the combination of the serum and moisturiser have left my skin hydrated and more 'fresh' looking which is impressive considering how tired I really am. For best effect, I think I probably need to use these in combination with a good anti-ageing night cream, as I felt my fine lines became more noticeable.

The Balancing Moisturiser is designed to hydrate the skin without leaving a shiny T-zone. My skin has been getting a little shiny on the chin and forehead by mid-afternoon. However, it's really hard to say if the moisturiser is at fault or if the combination of using a separate sunscreen plus the heat of the last couple of weeks is the real culprit. I suspect in Autumn/Winter I would be less likely to experience such breakthrough.

I've included the ingredients list for both products for completeness. Omorovicza use Hungarian Thermal Water as a key ingredient in all of their products. You can read more about the idea behind using minerals in skincare here. As an aside, if you're interested in the power of thermal water you might enjoy reading Musing About Beauty's guest post about the benefits of Avene Thermal Water.

The Ormorovizca Balancing Moisturiser costs £74 for 50ml and the Radiance Serum costs £68 for 30ml. The products are available direct from the Ormorovicza website, as well as Cult Beauty and Liberty in the UK.

Disclosure: These products were sent to me without charge for review consideration.

  1. Both sound really nice, I really like what I have tried from this brand so far, their corrective pencil is really good as well.
Would you be tempted to buy either of these after you have used them up?
    xx

    1. That is a toughy. I think I would be tempted to buy the Balancing Moisturiser again as it just feels so velvety and cooling on a morning but I have to say that even more tempted to try the BB cream you reviewed.

If anyone else is reading the comments section, please go and read Replica's excellent review of Omorovicza's Complexion Perfector BB SPF 20 review. I defy you not to feel tempted!

    1. It is an expensive line and I know it's more than I would usually spend. I have been very impressed with it and the products do feel really luxurious. It's maybe something to look out for in a sample set if you're not sure?

    2. Thanks for suggesting a sample set to try on would be great idea. Let's see how will it work on my skin.

  3. Great to read your review of these products. I bought the Omorovicza BB cream after reading Replica's review and have been quite impressed so far. I have very dry, very sensitive skin, and it hasn't irritated me or left me dry in the slightest. Very rare! (Plus I love the sheer veil of coverage it offers; I just add a concealer where needed and am ready to face the day with glowing skin. However, I'm not sure how well it will work for people with medium or darker skin shades. I'm around an NC20 and think I will mix in a bit of liquid bronzer for summer.) Based on my positive experience with the BB cream, I'm intrigued to learn more about the line overall and really appreciate your review of the serum and moisturiser.

    1. It's really interesting to hear your thoughts on the BB cream Sam. I think many BB creams are quite limited in terms of their colour. It's good to know that it works on your NC20 skin. I'm around NC20 and I've found many other BB creams have looked to light on me so this does sound a good choice. Thank you!

    2. I really look forward to your review, if you end up trying the BB cream. However, the color might be an issue for you--I don't recommend buying without trying it first. I don't find it too light, but it is quite...pearlescent. My skin isn't nearly as yellow as "NC" (I'm more neutral, tho the "20" is about right), so it works okay for me. But it might not be golden enough for you. As I get more color on the rest of me, I'm starting to use a (powder) bronzer with this. Today I blended in a little liquid bronzer before applying the BB cream. I really liked the effect! So just...check the color first before buying, I'd say. If the color works for you, the product itself is superb. :)

    1. Debbie, you need to mention the cost of these things and then drop in the fact that your shampoo purchases are a bargain. Get yourself in the good books :D
