Rouge Bunny Rouge Blusher in Delicata

I have already shown a couple of FOTD pictures wearing this blusher but I thought it might be useful to do a swatch and review post. This is my first Rouge Bunny Rouge blusher or For Love of Roses Original Skin Blush to give it it's proper title. I'm very pleased with it and the texture is all I expected. It's soft and gives a delicate sheen as it has a small amount of refined shimmer. As ever the packaging and detailing is a nice extra touch.

It is a beige pink and is actually difficult to swatch as it is a delicate colour. It's enough to give a nice bit of definition to the cheeks and works well with any lipstick and eyeshadow combination that I've tried. I've also paired it succesfully with a brighter colour on the apples of the cheek. I think it's an especially useful shade to have if you wear a lot of reds or darker lipsticks and don't want a blusher that competes.

Rouge Bunny Rouge is available from Zuneta who ship worldwide. The blushers come in 5 other shades and cost £25. I'm keen to try Gracilis next, a medium rose which I think would also be good for my colouring.

  1. It is a bit overpriced but considering that their products are superb in quality, I think I would give this a go.

  2. I love the packaging but I'm not sure this would show up on my skin? x

  3. There's no getting away from the fact that they are expensive products. There are a lot of lovely things in their range that I just can't stretch to like the gorgeous liquid highlighters. It's very rare that I have been disappointed with any RBR though.

  4. Hi Karleigh, I'm not sure how this would show up on darker skin than mine. I do wonder if it might not be visible on more tanned skin. I might have to experiment on my OH, lol! If you look at the Zuneta descriptions, they are broken down in to whether they're best suited to pale or medium skin tones. I think you could definitely pull off some of the more striking colours.

  5. Thank you for this. I think Delicata looks gorgeous- both in the pan and on you. I will be trying this out- hurrah for bloggers with similar colouring! Btw, how is your hair mellowing out?

  6. Oh you evil temptress...:-)
I've been trying to decide for ages whether I need this or not, intended for contouring more than anything else. Perhaps the shimmer renders it unsuitable for this???? (do I sound hopeful? lol).
I love the pics and the swatches, it looks so tempting!

  7. This looks like such a great everyday blush. I love the patterns in the pan too.

  8. I have made quite a big dent in my delicata, such a great throw on shade. I'm hoping they add some more shades to the line up as I think the ones I don't have are probably a bit too bright for my pale self x

  9. @Michelle: I seem to recall you have the blush wand in Vermeer, that’s something on my list to try eventually too.

@Nina: You’re not going to like this answer, or you purse certainly isn’t! I made the biochemist hand over his arm to beauty research. He has a medium olive complexion and I swatched this on his arm and it actually shows up nicely. It appears more pink on his skin. I think this would work the same way it does on my skin, to create a subtly sculpted cheek. It seems to naturally give a contoured shape to the cheek without necessarily placing in the hollow. The shimmer isn’t obvious it just gives a nice sheen. Sorry, I realise none of this is helpful with the temptation!

@dempss: I like the patterns in the pan too. Somehow less upsetting to spoil this rather than an overspray!

@Replica: I love it as a no brainer blusher shade. It has joined MAC Cubic as my everyday favourite blusher. I really like the light texture too and would welcome more colours. I can’t remember, do you have any of the blush wands? I’m intrigued by those too.

  10. Love this too, fail-proof shade imo!!!
And photographs really well!!!! I like that it's more on the neutral side, not too pink, not too peach, not too mauve!!! A must for pale skintones for sure!!!

  12. @Fragrant Witch: I'm so sorry I missed replying to you yesterday. I find it really useful when other bloggers have similar colouring. It makes narrowing choices down so much easier. I'm glad I can be of assistance to you :D. Thanks for asking about hair. Sadly no real mellowing, it still looks super dark. I will be getting rid of it when my colourB4 arrives!
