L'Oreal Couleur Infallible in Sahara Treasure and Time Resist White

I spent today getting very frustrated at technology. It's been a long time since I've encountered software that doesn't have a Mac-compatible version. So, in order to upgrade the software on my phone I had to pull out the old Windows laptop. A thoroughly painful experience considering the internet on the phone is faster than the laptop. Don't anyone dare utter the words iPhone right now!

With the computer versus human battle in the day and the evening spent wrapping presents, it's left very little time for blogging. However, I did manage to take some pictures of my most recent purchases.

I popped into Superdrug yesterday on a mission to buy the L'Oreal Couleur Infallible eyeshadow in Sahara Treasure (021). As they had a 3 for 2 offer on L'Oreal products I thought it would be rude not to take advantage. As well as Sahara Treasure, I bought the Couleur Infallible eyeshadow in Time Resist White (001) and the Superliner for Hazel Eyes*. I have used both formulas before. You can read my post about the (then named) Color Infallible eyeshadows in Burning Black and Endless Chocolate here.

I haven't had opportunity to apply them yet but both Sahara Treasure and Time Resist White are as pigmented when swatched as the Endless Chocolate. They have the same velvety cream/powder hybrid texture as my other shades too. Sahara Treasure is a gorgeous golden shimmery taupe colour and I can't wait to try this one on my lids tomorrow. Time Resist White is a bit of a gamble for me, as I'm not a big user of frosty whites. In the pot this looks more like an ivory cream than pure white and I hope it looks more like that on my eyes than the swatch would suggest. I shall reserve judgement until I've had a play. I will try and post a picture of how the colours look when applied in the next couple of days.

*Yes, I know my eyes aren't hazel but the purple grabbed me more than the navy blue for blue eyes. I may even have done a little eyebrow raise at blue liner for blue eyes....

  1. I'm after Sahara Treasure myself - I reviewed a different shade (Bronze Goddess/Divine) and really liked it.

The white is pretty but I think it would look a bit stark on my skintone.

I'm looking forward to what you think once you've tried them out on your eyes.

  2. Gosh, I want all of these! They look amazing! You have a good eye Jane, and yes, it would be rude not to take advantage ;)

  3. Love the look of the darkest one! Still not got round to trying them out.

Is blue liner a no no for blue eyes then? Genuine question... I have no clue and wear a lot of blue! eek!

  4. @Nazia: I'm really looking forward to a play with them. I promise to report back!

@dempss: I had my 4 year old enable me on this one too! They have such a lovely texture.

@Charlie: I think in makeup artists terms blue on blue eyes is supposed to be a no, no. 'The rules' seem to suggest you're supposed to go for a contrasting colour (I believe, don't quote me) so I was really surprised to see a cosmetic brand marketing a blue liner for blue eyes. I say, if you like it, go for it :)

  5. These are one of the first d/s products I've wanted for a long time! I bought Bronze Divine the other day and I really love it, the texture of these eyeshadows are really gorgeous aren't they?

  6. LOL! We are having the opposite of computer vs. human here. I just transitioned from Windows to an IPad. I keep making my husband look at all the cool stuff I can do now including blogging. We are both addicted to angry birds, but I think that will pass soon enough.

  7. OOOH I want Sahara Treasure. I found some in Canada (they aren't in the US yet) but they didn't have a shade that pretty. My review on Friday, Dec. 16th is for the 3 I did buy. They wear beautifully! Plus they make excellent eyeliners.

  8. Sahara Treasure will probably be my next purchase - I have Endless Chocolate and it's too dark for me just by itself and I think it would look great with Sahara Treasure. I'm also interested in these superliners, might get the blue one (and I have hazel eyes:) x

  9. So want to try these but will have to get over my fear of fall-out issues first! Do have Naked 1? If so could you compare Sahara Treasure to Sidecar - I love the base colour of Sidecar but hate the giant glitter in it, desperate to find something very similar without the glitter! thanks

  11. @glossedintranslation: I agree, the texture is amazing and if I didn't know otherwise I would think it was a much more expensive product. I don't get tempted by d/s that often but these are a great find.

@Martha: I've not allowed myself anywhere near Angry Birds yet. I hear it's really addictive! Enjoy your transition :D

@Marcia: I really enjoyed your review Marcia, you got some stunning colours. Let me know if you need any help getting hold of Sahara Treasure.

@Klara: I think you're right about pairing Sahara Treasure with Endless Chocolate. Sahara is more gold than I was expecting but I like it very much. If you do get one of the Superliners, make sure you give it a shake before you. My top tip there!

@ihavemostlybeen: Fallout? I've not come across fallout issues with these as it has an almost cream quality rather than powder. Have other people had problems? I'd have happily done a comparison for you but I don't have Naked, I'm afraid. I'm nervous of UD eyeshadows!

@Eden-Avalon: The love is well deserved. They're great quality for the price.
