Illamasqua Blusher Brush 1

I'm always a little reserved when it comes to synthetic brushes, worrying that they'll be to 'slippy' to grip pigment. I'd heard good reports about the Illamasqua brushes though from trusted sources so in the end curiosity got the better of me.

The Illamasqua blusher brush 1 is not a fluffy brush as such. Instead it is a dense and has a dome shape more similar at the tip to the shape of a MAC 109 brush. Despite the dense hairs and shape, I don't find that is it applies too much product. I find it very good at for blusher application. I have also used it successfully to buff out liquid highlighter. Although I haven't used it for foundation application I can imagine it works well for buffing in liquid foundation. Plus it's ideal for use with liquids being a synthetic bristle brush.

The other thing I must mention is how beautiful soft this brush feels. It's a delight to use for tactile reasons as well as functional.

The blusher brush costs £25.50 and I bought mine from Illamasqua's Beak Street store. If you fancy doing a bit of online shopping you can get free delivery using the code UKFREEDEC until midnight on 18th December on the Illamasqua website.

  1. I've been bemoaning the current state of my blush brush collection (useable brushes? 2.) So It's nice to read about possible additions. <3

  2. This brush is a good choice if you need a new blusher brush. If I could only have one blusher brush in my collection I think it would be a MAC 168 angled brush. I hope that helps!
