I recently received an email asking how the plum colours in the Le Métier Silk Road Kaleidoscope compare to Rouge Bunny Rouge Delicate Hummingbird. I took some pictures and swatches and thought it would be useful to share them here too. I have previously compared Delicate Hummingbird to other purple and plummy tones in my collection.
Above you can see how Delicate Hummingbird compares to the Plums in Silk Road (Tapestry and Ikat) in the pan. I have included an Accesorize eyeshadow in Molten as another plummy shade. I was also asked if Delicate Hummingbird was in any way similar to Le Métier Corinthian. As I don't own that particular colour, I have included Satin Taupe to show how Delicate Hummingbird looks compared to a taupe. I'm not sure if Corinthian leans more plum than Satin Taupe. If you own both Delicate Hummingbird and Corinthian, I'd love to know how you think the two compare.
In the pan, Delicate Hummingbird is most similar to Tapestry from the Silk Road Kaleidoscope. The main difference being that Delicate Hummingbird is more silvery whereas Tapestry has more golden/coppery lights. When swatched the differences are more obvious. Neither of the Silk Road eyeshadows are a dupe for Delicate Hummingbird. Delicate Hummingbird is cooler and more grey. I know some people describe it as taupe but for me that implies a brown undertone or mushroom-y colour which is not the case.
Although I don't own Chanel Illusoire or the Armani Eyes to Kill in
Purpura, I suspect that they are both similar colours. You can see how
these colours compare to Delicate Hummingbird in Hopelessly Devoted to Makeup's review post.
Delicate Hummingbird is a beautiful eyeshadow. As well as being a lovely colour, it's also very pigmented and smooth to apply. This was my first Rouge Bunny Rouge eyeshadow and remains a favourite.
