John Frieda's Frizz Ease 3-Days Straight is an a home treatment designed to be used on wet hair before blow drying. It's also designed for use on curly hair and I obviously don't have curly hair but my hair is a little wayward and frizzy so I thought this might keep it looking a bit tidier.
For some reason I had expected this to be a single use product so I was pleasantly surprised to realise it is a spray that will provide many applications. The directions are to apply to freshly washed damp or wet hair (7-15 spritzes), comb through, blow dry hair straight and then finish using hair straighteners. It seems to take very little effort to get a nice smooth blow dry when I use this just using a paddle brush. I also find that it seems to give my hair extra body which is great as my hair can look a limp. This extra body lasts even when I use the straighteners.
The first time I used this I attempted to leave my hair three days before washing. It looked great on the second day and was still straight on the third but by then it really needed washing. On the packaging it does say three days or until you would next wash your hair. So, in my case this gives two good days.
My hair feels nice and soft when I use this with no sign of product residue. It costs £6.99 which I think is good value considering the multiple uses. I'm very pleased with my frizz-less barnet and I intend to get my curly haired friends to give it a try too.

I really like the sound of this. My hair has a natural curl but is also very fine, I had seen this in boots and worried it would go two ways - either make my hair lank and greasy or crisp.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go back and give it a go, thanks for this review! xx
Ooh I would love to know how this fares on curly or wavy hair!
ReplyDeleteI really like this product too, I haven't stopped using it since I bought it!

Been very curious about this product for a while now and now even more so after this post! I think I need to hunt it down at some point soon! ;)
ReplyDeleteGreat review! xx
I've also been curious about this but the reviews have been 50/50 but now you've said it helped with blow drying I may have to try some! I do love the frizz ease serum after all. No one mentioned blow drying, I don't use straightners all the time as my hairs getting longer and can't cope with frequent use goes too dry and breaks. But if I can get it fairly straight and keep it straight with blow drying I'll be happy!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of your comments.
ReplyDelete@Georgia: I'd definitely recommend giving it a go. I worry about straightening products making my hair lanky but I really like the body I get with this.
@MLBB: I must get on and pounce on one of my curl haired friends!
@Sarah: I'm pleased to hear you like it too. I really like the blowdry I get when I use it. Definite thumbs up.
@Tina: Thanks Tina. I would definitely recommend giving it a try.
@EJ: It's interesting that the reviews have been mixed. I suppose it might depend on how curly ones hair is. Mine isn't curl, just unruly so it just helps it look more groomed I suppose. I am very pleased with the effect!

I have curly hair and tend to wash it weekly and straighten with straighteners without blow drying as I'm not very good at it and find if I put on leave in conditioner tie loosely and dry naturally overnight I can straighten pretty well, however this product seems to leave a heavy residue and if I tie my hair up it makes the hair kink quicker and the kink stays, even though I've followed the instructions religiously, this is for both me and my daughter, so I wasn't at all impressed with this product. And because of the residue problem I had to wash my hair on the 3rd day because it just felt dirty and icky. I have thought about askin a friend or hairdresser to do the blow drying part for myself to see if this is where the fault lies but I have just resigned to putting this product to the back of my bathroom cupboard.. Generally disappointed
