When Illamasqua was still very much the new kid on the block, there was always a lot of talk about their blushers. They don't seem to get as much love anymore but they're still just as deserving so in view of that, I thought I would share my little collection
I can't actually remember which came first but I know that I bought Beg, Unrequited and Rude in quick succession. I received Morale in my event bag for the recent Theatre of the Nameless release and you can see how it looks when applied in this post.
This is one of those moment where I can feel proud that I have selection of very different colours! Unrequited in a vibrant girly pink and Beg is probably best described as a deep rosy brown. Both of these colours are matte powder blushers. Rude is my only cream blusher from Illamasqua and I know it looks quite scary when swatched. On the cheeks it translates to a beautiful coral flush. The cream formula gives it a very fresh look and it's a perfect choice for warmer weather. Morale is Illamasqua's first foray into a shimmer finish (Ambition is also a shimmer finish and currently on my 'to buy' list). When swatched it looks almost metallic. On the cheeks this has the most amazing sheen. It reminds me a little of a MAC MSF but without the chunky glitter.
All of these blushers are very pigmented so a little goes a long way. They also last very well. I don't imagine that I will be hitting pan anytime soon! They cost £16.50 each but I have a feeling I picked a couple of these up from ASOS whilst they has special deals on. All of these shades are still available, although I see that Morale is currently sold out on the Illamasqua website. No doubt because of the free delivery offer they have at the moment.
Do you have a favourite Illamasqua blusher?
Lovely collection! I do have favourite and it is the cream blusher called SOB. It's a light baby dolly pink that perks up my sallow complexion in the depths of winter. I love it!
ReplyDeleteLovely collection :) The only one I have the same as you is Rude! Hussy is one of my favourites, but my ultimate favourite is Rumour. It is the PERFECT colour for contouring on my skintone. Sadly it's discontinued :( I remember when I hit pan on it a few months ago, I tweeted about my despair and Alex from Illamasqua found one lying around in the office and posted it to me. How sweet is that? This was a few months ago now and I'm still sweeping my brush around the corners of my old one, I'm determined to use up every little speck of it before I crack open the other one since I know it'll be the last one I EVER have!
ReplyDelete...I think I've got a problem. Haha.
Great post as always :)
Rude looks gorgeous! I'm always being recommended Illamasqua blushes whenever I'm on the look for a new one - so shall definitely be having a look next time I'm at Selfridges!
ReplyDeleteI'm very jealous! Great collection there, I don't own any of their blushers and think I really should!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, i have never tried Illamasqua blushers but i love the look of unrequited x
ReplyDeleteI adore Illamasqua blushes! I absolutely love Lover, it is so gorgeous! I also have Laid and Ambition (which is amazing) plus one I just bought at the recent Sydney IMATS but I've forgotten the name! Lovely collection x
ReplyDeleteVery pretty! They look gorgeous against your skin!
ReplyDeleteYou have a gorgeous collection there doll!Love Morales and Unrequited. These look so pretty!Have to get myself some Illamasqua blushers,as blushers are my thing and want to try them all!!hehe

Blushers are the main thing I have yet to try from Illamasqua. I do however have cream shadow in Morn which I love as both a blusher and lippie and powder shadows in Tempt and Maybe also bought as blushers. In the recent sale I added cream shadow in Exalt but have yet to try it. I do like the fact that they take up less room in my makeup bag than a conventinal blusher but maybe one day I'll branch out....

I don't have any Illamasqua blushers yet, but I really love the look of Morale in your swatches! Thanks for sharing :) x
ReplyDeleteI have held off buying their powder blushers as they contain a few ingredients I usually avoid, that said they have a great range of shades and many I would like to buy and I have really been eyeing up Ambition, I might just take a chance of it..maybe.. ;)
ReplyDeleteI have Morale and its my ultimate fave blush at the mo, such great value for money as a little really does go a long way!
ReplyDeleteGoodness they are gorgeous. I have my eye on Beg.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for the lovely comments.
ReplyDelete@Old Cow: That sounds lovely. Perfect for you too as I know how much you like crying ;)
@Leanne: Thank you Leanne. How lovely of Alex to do that. Of course because it's discontinued, I wish I'd got a look in whilst I had the chance!
@BBH: I do think you'd really like them. Definitely have a play when you get the chance.
@Gaelle & Nicoletta: I would definitely recommend giving their blushers a try. They have such a good formula.
@Angie: Ooh, what do you think to Ambition? Is it a must-have? It's on my wishlist.
@Jamilla Camel: Thank you!
@Blushingloves: They definitely are an essential brand to try if you love blushers :D
@Sparklz and Shine: Can I admit that I'm shocked that you don't own any of their blushers?
@Makeup Magpie: Morale is really nice, I'm very pleased by the fact that they did shimmer without it being chunky glitter. Do you have Illamasqua at your local Sephora?
@Replica: It must be nerve-wracking trying something if you think it might cause a reaction. Ambition is very tempting, I know a few other bloggers I trust really love it.
@Priya: I bet it looks amazing on you. I totally agree with you about a little going a long way. It's going to last me a very long time!
@Jen: Beg is lovely. It probably looks too dark for a blusher in the pan but it's a favourite of mine. It reminds me a little of Edward Bess After Sunset.
Jane x
I recently picked up my first two Illamasqua blushes. >w> Rude and Lover! I love love love love love them! Beg is next on my list. I'm surprised at how different our Rudes look (skin makes such a huge difference!)
ReplyDeleteIt's really interesting the difference the skin makes to how a colour looks. I've seen it happen in the flesh too, when swatching with other people on shopping trips. On my cheeks Rude looks a lot more pink and less orange.
ReplyDeleteSadly I haven't tried their blushers yet, but I've got my eyes set on Nymph - time to try a shade a little out of my comfort zone I think...!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful reviews Jane! ;)
