I have incorporated the three products pictured below into my routine for the last month or so. I use the Hydrating Lighter Lotion every morning after cleansing with the Moringa Foaming Cleansing Wash. I use the Moringa Cleansing Balm in the evenings although I have tended to use it only two or three nights a week when I feel my skin needs an extra thorough cleanse. I have been rather hooked on using my Bioderma wipes for convenience but the Moringa Balm feels like a luxurious facial in comparison.
I find the combination of the Cleansing Wash and Lighter Lotion in the morning give me radiant and perky skin and they are the perfect prep for makeup. I know that not everyone enjoys using a foaming wash but it is something I have always used as part of my morning routine. The Emma Hardie wash feels very gentle and refreshing on my skin. I experience no drying or tightness when using this.
The Hydrating Lighter Lotion is a runny lotion but don't be fooled into thinking you need a lot of this because of the texture. A little goes a long way and I find a pea size amount (around one and a quarter pumps) is enough to cover my face and neck. This has actually become a hero product for me. I rarely look or feel radiant first thing in the morning but this lotion makes my skin glow, look hydrated and healthy without leaving it greasy. It's almost like using a serum and moisturiser in one. It's also the perfect base for foundation. Having said that, I find that my skin looks so healthy using this that often I will just used concealer to cover up any redness and blemishes and skip foundation altogether. That's why it's my hero: radiant skin and less time doing my makeup means more time in bed! Did I mention that it smells wonderful too?
I think the Natural lift and sculpt Moringa cleansing balm is probably the most well known in the Emma Hardie range and I can understand why. The balm is an oil based cleanser that is mostly solid at room temperature. I scoop out a small amount then warm it up between my palms before massaging over my face. I do like to spend a minute or so massaging it over my face before removing it with a dampened cloth. I find it a very relaxing ritual before bed because of the wonderful scent and texture of the balm. So far I have just used one of my stash of cloths to remove the balm but after watching Emma Hardie herself talk about the massaging technique and benefits of using the cloth that comes with the balm, I intend to give this a try. I will report back on how I get on.
Even just using one of my muslins or flannels to remove the balm, I find this leaves my skin feeling soft and plump. It doesn't leave a greasy film, something I found to be an issue with the Botanics balm I tried previously so I don't feel the need to double cleanse.
Emma Hardie products are available from SpaceNK and also QVC. The products are expensive but I think they are worth the investment. There is a starter kit available which includes the balm, exfoliating seeds, the cloth as well as a treatment moisturiser and I think this is a great way to try the line. The Starter Kit is currently on an introductory price of £22.65 from QVC (link here) which is a bargain as I think it's usually £32 from SpaceNK. There seem to be a few other deals on QVC at the moment so it's well worth a peek.

Hello Jane and aren't the amazing? I'm a huge fan and it's a firm staple in my kit for myself and also for when I work on models and celebs. Great post and great thorough descriptions. Don't you love the smell? I adore it! Thanks for sharing x
ReplyDeleteHello Kenneth (I'm so pleased that I'm back and can write to you!). Yes, amazing is absolutely right. I don't think I really rave on about products very often but these are worthy of shouting about! I can totally understand why these would be a kit staple for you as they give skin such radiance. Perfect for shoots I imagine. The divine scent is the icing on the cake. And thank YOU for sharing :D xx
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any of this range. The whole range sounds really good, just wondering how good it is on sensitive skin - mine can be so dodgy! I've gotten right into my skin lately though and am finally taking care of it (About time really!!!)
ReplyDeleteA very thorough review hun, I will definitely be looking into Hydrating Lighter lotion!!

I love EH on QVC she is so knowledgeable, unfortunately I am not so enamoured of/with the cleansing balm which I find is so meltingly buttery that I have used up the whole pot in a twinkling of an eye, and if I get it in my mouth (not that hard if one is massaging away!) the taste is awful. However the kit on QVC is great value - the eye cream alone is 10mls in size. She is on QVC on 6th November on Beauty Day for 2 separate hours - 12pm and 5pm.
ReplyDeleteIt's great to hear how this has worked for you. The facial wash is on my list to try as I loved the balm.
ReplyDeleteThese sound really good and I think after reading your review we will all be running out to buy the Hydrating Lighter Lotion :) Thanks for such a helpful review, I'll make sure to look into the EH range x
ReplyDeleteI'm obsessed with EH! I just finished my cleansing balm. I need a new one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! x
ReplyDelete@Mel: As per our chat on Twitter, I think you should be ok but it is always worth checking the ingredients list if you already know some of the things you are sensitive to. I'm happy to take pics of the ingredients lists if it is helpful.
ReplyDelete@Jan: I haven't managed to get any in my mouth as yet. The kit is brilliant value, worth getting it from QVC rather than SpaceNK because of the difference in price too. Thanks for the heads up about the 6th too.
@Meeta: I think the facial wash is nice though I would probably only recommend it if you use a foaming wash normally. I know some people think they are the stuff of the devil!
@Replica: I really like the lighter lotion. When I first pumped it out I thought it wouldn't be enough to moisturise my skin but it's balanced it really well. Do let me know if you need me to check any ingredients list.
@Rebecca: It's lovely stuff isn't it? Have you used it on shoots too?
