Help: Clear Skin Review

Today, I have drafted in the assistance of my sister to review Help: Clear Skin. Help: Clear Skin is a supplement which has been shown to improve skin with acne and blemishes. I thought this would be perfect for my sister as she has suffered with hormonal related acne and as she has to get up at 6am everyday for work, a complicated skincare routine can be tricky. Anyway, without further ado I will let my sister tell you her story and what she thought to Help: Clear Skin.

So, before I launch into a review of the product used, I should give a little history of me. I am a full time working Mum to two smallies. When pregnant with my first child, I developed acne. This went away almost as soon as I gave birth. My second child (a 6 month old boy) however brought me a little more. The acne started almost immediately and unlike the first time, has been a little more stubborn. After three months it was mostly cleared up but a few dark patches remained. Initially I tried Alpha H mask and moisturiser with arnica. This did help with reducing the angriness of some of the red spots. I’m sure it will be a horror to my sister, but I’m a little pants at any sort of skin routine so unless I did it frequently they would just re-appear. I know this is my fault but I can’t really help the way I am. I’m afraid with my job I get up so early I would rather have a few more minutes in bed!

So, when I got a text message to ask to try out this product, I first had to ask how often I needed to take it. I take regular medications for migraine, so if I could take it once a day then I could trust myself to be vigilant with taking the supplement.

Ok, down to the nitty gritty, the supplement is called Help: Clear Skin and comes in sachet form. It contains Praventin™ which they describe as 'a clinically proven bioactive protein, rich in lactoferrin, which has been said to reduce the development of the bacteria responsible for many skin impurities, helping to prevent the formation of blemishes and spots due to its antimicrobial effects' (there is a list of relevant research papers on their website). Each sachet also contains 100mg milk protein, 0.25g high extract Aloe Vera and 3.65g Oligofructose. It is suitable for vegetarians, diabetics and those who are lactose intolerant. The packaging states that for improved skin, take 2 sachets daily for a minimum of 3-4 weeks. The sachet is to be dissolved into 500ml non carbonated drink.

The first time I mixed up the drink, I added some fruit juice, but made the mistake of thinking this would dissolve better, so I strongly recommend stirring well because it’s a little unpleasant if you get a lump! I have tried the drink without the juice, and was surprised to find that it was tasteless. However I must add that on a jaunt to my sisters’ house it tasted different so might depend on the water so it's best to put a bit of juice in to be safe!

I have been using the drink for over four weeks now. Within the first two weeks I thought that I could see an improvement. Mainly to the feel of my skin. It felt smoother and softer. I thought that I might be imagining it, but on a visit to a friends she noticed and asked me if I was using it yet because some of the redness to my cheeks had improved. I think that the biggest achievement was that I didn’t get my usual monster of a spot at that time of the month which must be a first.

I’m not saying that this is a miracle cure for acne as my skin wasn’t terrible, but it certainly has helped me so I would recommend it to anyone who wants to have a go at improving their skin. On the down side, it is expensive. It costs £9.99 per box depending on where you buy it from. The box contains 14 sachets so would only last a week.
