Lost Weekend Look

I thought I would have a go at re-creating the look from the BECCA Lost Weekend promotional pictures. In the breakdown of the look it says to use the Eye Tint in Baroque as a base. I don't have this so instead I used the Automatic liner in Goa as a base along the upper and lower lash line. I applied the darkest colour, Chino, all over the lid taking it quite high and beyond the crease. I used the lightest shade, Moleskin, to blend out above the crease. I used the shimmery shade Moiré in the crease and also ran it along the lower lashline. I applied more of the Goa liner along the upper lash line and also used a small amount of the black Majorca pencil at the outer corner and underneath the lashes. I smudged any harsh lines with a pencil brush.

Lost Weekend

No matter how much I tried, I couldn't get the colour quite as dark as in the promo pictures above. I think it would really require a darker base to do this. My apologies for all the frowny face pictures. The sun was quite bright when I took these photographs and I was squinting rather than trying to look intentionally moody!

  1. Oh I LOVE it!! I did it in my video yesterday but didn't get my colour as deep as yours - I might try again with your technique of using eyeliner as a base! First glance I thought that the palette was really wishy-washy and bland, but Chino is an amazing shade. It looks great on you!

  2. Thanks Ruth. I'd be interested to see how it does look over Baroque. I know what you mean about the colours being deceptive. I still don't think it can quite replace the Enigma palette in my affections ;)

  3. That is so pretty Jane! I remember you had some reservations about Chino working with your colouring, but I think it works splendidly :)
Absolutely love this. I shall be visiting Fenwicks on Monday to see this in person.
    Have a great weekend!

  6. Chino looks really pretty on you. I hate how overused the word "smoky" is but you have achieved a, shall we say, smoldering look. It really does make your eyes look almost emerald!

  10. I love that look, looks very sultry ;)
I was going to order that palette this weekend but its £42 on the Zuneta site, which seems a lot more expensive than the last one they put out? x

  12. What are your thoughts on the brush that came in the palette? Useable? Or Useless? :P

  13. @inthesweetshop: Thanks Nina, I look forward to hearing what you think when you see it in person. I'd really appreciate it if you could tell me how much it is at the counter. The prices online are all over the place! x

@Jen W: Thank you so much Jen. I hope it's useful.

@dempss01: It does seem to make my eyes seem more green doesn't it? It's so strange how colours do that with my eyes!

@Zuzu's Petals: Thank you, I like the idea of smoldering :D

@Toni: Ah, thank you so much.

@Imo: It's not love I'm afraid. It does give quite dramatic lashes but I find it quite a gloopy formula and I can't avoid clumps.

    @TheCosmeticCrave: Thank you Joselin.

@Replica: I have literally no idea what's going on with the price. On the press release it says £35. On the BECCA website they have it on sale at £29.17 and £42 on Zuneta. £42 seems really expensive. I'm hoping Nina can tell us how much it is on counter. I'm puzzled!

Thank you for all of your lovely comments,
    Jane x

  14. Thank you Jan!

Hi BooBooNinja - great name! I like the brush in these palettes. It's definitely not useless and it's particularly good for smoky colour along the lashline.
