FoTD with Annabelle eyeliner and Kevyn Aucoin lipstick

Here's my face of the day with the Annabelle eyeliner and Kevyn Aucoin lipstick that I reviewed recently. I also used the new Illamasqua Skin Base. The jury is out for me on this one. I've become used to wearing sheer coverage foundations and tinted moisturiser and this is a much heavier base. However, I think it photographs well. I need more of a play with the samples before I write a review.

I've used two of my favourite MAC eyeshadows in this look: Vex and Club are both duochrome eyeshadows and I think they pair well. I had hoped that wearing with the Jade eyeliner would pull out the green in both eyeshadows but I think they look very neutral here.

  1. This is a beautiful look, love the eyeliner. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the skin base, I've been debating whether to get it but heard very mixed reviews.

  2. Hi KTCG and thank you! I think whether or not you will enjoy skin base depends on what you're used to. I can feel it on my skin and it sits in my pores. I think if you're used to light foundations, this may not be for you. It does give a nice finish but I think it's a heavier coverage and doesn't feel like the other BB cream that I have. What sort of base are you after?

  8. @Blushingloves Irene: I can imagine it's a great black in this formula. I'm very impressed with the quality.

@Madame Gourmand: Thank you! Vex and Club are two real favourites of mine, as is the blusher I'm wearing. I don't wear as much MAC these days but I have some things I always return to from their line.

@Marcia: Ha ha! That was taken in the run up to the end of the school year and I was all out of good cheer!! I do try hard to not to look so serious on camera ordinarily ;)

@Jeanie: I love the Annabelle liner, so easy to apply!

@Rocaille: Cubic is one of my absolute favourite blushers. When in doubt, I always reach for this colour.

    Thanks for the lovely comments,

  13. xD Your makeup looks beautiful. Very elegant, but the pop of color in the liner gives it an interesting twist.
