Teal Eye Look

I decided to have a go at a smoky teal eye after seeing Make up by Katy's post yesterday. It's not a patch on Katy's work but her look with green eyeshadows inspired me. I used to do this look quite a lot but you know what it's like when you buy new things, you forget about old favourites.

I really like how the teal colour works when layered over a darker base. Having looked at the pictures I think it need something else to finish it off. Feel free to make suggestions! I applied Smut eyeshadow by MAC on to the mobile lid stopping at the crease. I then pressed a teal colour by Bourjois over the top of Smut and slightly over the edge of it at the crease. I lined with MAC Mystery, which is a blackened teal colour with a light sparkle. I love this colour but often struggle to know what to pair it with. It's nice to have occasion to use it. The rest of the products I used are listed below.

Eyes
MAC Painterly paint pot
MAC Smut
Bourjois 24 Turquoise Ensoleillé eyeshadow
MAC Brule (used to blend out at crease and applied up to brow)
MAC Mystery Kohl Power liner
Bourjois Kohl in Vert Inspire on lower lash and waterline
L'Oreal Voluminous mascara

Lips
MAC Cosmo

I also noticed when I was going through the pictures that I need to get on and buy a new foundation. My skin seems to need a little extra help at the moment, I have a feeling the Eve Lom moisturiser I've been using doesn't agree with my skin. Again feel free to make a suggestion to tempt me!

  2. This is lovely on you - subtle but strong if that makes sense. I think the colour really suits your own colouring.

  3. @The Bristol Beauty Blog: Thank you, I really love the liner and need to find more ways to use it.

@lipstickmama: I understand what you mean. It's quite a strong eye but it's still daytime appropriate I think.

  5. Loving the eye make up! To finish, maybe define the brows a bit more...adds to the strength of the look and maybe just a slight more touch of colour to the lips?

  6. Thanks for the award and Tag BBB x

You caught me Bella Queen, I left my brows alone as I worried it might look too much with the eye for day time. I agree though, I really could have done with adding some definition. Even if it was a bit of brow wax. Thanks the suggestions x
