I really wanted Khaki Rose when the Les Khaki de Chanel collection was released last August. They were only available in selected places and relatively hard to get hold of, they had sold out of Khaki Rose before I could get hold of one. Disappointed I put it to the back of my head.
A very kind person remembered how much I had wanted it and sent me this bottle. I fell in love as soon as I started applying. Something in the undertones of this murky, almost chocolate brown seems to work well with my skin tone. I can see it's one of those colours that will either look great or bring out the red in the skin.
The coverage was good and I found it went on easily. There is some tip wear visible but that's quite normal with my terrible nails. I got a couple of days out of it before I had to remove it which is a good manicure for me!
My apologies for showing you something you can't get anymore. I couldn't resist taking pictures though. Did you try any of the Khaki de Chanel polishes? Were they love or hate for you?
Hi Jane
ReplyDeleteThat colour really suits you, it seems to compliment your tones well.
I did check these out a little after release on counter (they were sold out but testers were still there) and I quite liked the look of Khaki Vert. I am not disappointed about missing this one although I am about Dior Gris City collection - my own fault as I didn't look all around the counter at Selfridges and missed the display they keep at the till point at the back.
It's beautiful, really nice. Love how someone Sent it to you - NICE ONE!
ReplyDeleteYou will like the one I have posted about today too, I suspect- Another greige ;)
I love the Khakis! Best thing Chanel has done in the last year. I'm loving Mimosa too.
ReplyDeleteI almost never use nail polish, but this is really pretty and it suits you so very well... sophisticated and chic.

Very classy looking on you, love it! x
ReplyDeleteI am never quite sure about these sort of shades of brown, because this is undeniably brown, but it does have that rose hint to it which just lifts it. I have never really got with Chanel varnishes, but how lovely to receive something that one has forgotten about and given up on owning as a gift, it reminds me of that saying "the past is history, the present is a mystery but today is a gift, that is why it's called the present" Sorry Jane, am going off on one again! Jan x
ReplyDeleteI never tried any of them but I love this colour!
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous.
@Meeta: Thank you. I always feel a bit miffed when the display and testers are out even when they’re all sold out. I remember that being the case when I was trying to find Paradoxal.
ReplyDelete@Stina: I love the Mavala colour you posted. I’m going to be on the lookout for that. The email I got asking if I still was after one was unexpected and so kind. It was really nice they remembered I wanted it.
@Ava: I haven’t seen Mimosa yet. I’m not sure if I’ll be able to pull it off but it looks very pretty.
@Nina: I never knew that you didn’t wear polish. I can’t wear it everyday as my nails aren’t up to much. I do really like this colour.
@Debbie: Thank you!
@Jan: Oh I love that saying Jan, it’s on Kung Fu Panda (I’m so cultured) and it’s stuck with me. I was really touched that someone thought of me. It may be past the moment for the trend but I’m thrilled with it.
@Melinda Stella: Thanks, I do really love these sorts of nail colours.
Thank you for all of your comments,
Jane x
