Top - Vibrant Raspberry, Bottom - Spicy Plum |
In the tubes, the colours look more similar than they do when swatched or applied. As the names suggest Vibrant raspberry is a a bright raspberry pink and Spicy plum is plummy purple. Both contain fine shimmer and the colour is quite sheer. I found it a little tricky to get even coverage (more so with the plum than the raspberry) and these look at their best when they've settled on the lips for a little bit. I really like the effect though as it's between a gloss and a stain. Both give that lovely 'I've just been eating berries' kind of colour.

As I mentioned both have shimmer but it's very fine and I struggle to pick it out when it's on the lips, it just provides a glossy effect. The gloss feels comfortable on and has reasonable lasting power. The glosses are a little sticky but not overly so. They have a light fig scent which I enjoy but I know isn't everyone's cup of tea.
SPICY PLUM
VIBRANT RASPBERRY
I have to say I have been impressed with these cube glosses, there are 10 shades althogether including Sweet Cassis, Hot Aubergine and Glam Rose. I was going to link to them but I can't find them on the Max Factor website or Boots for some reason. I will have to take a look in my local Boots and Superdrug to check they still have them. I believe they are priced at £5.99.
Disclosure: These were sent to me without charge for review purposes.
They are quite a nice effect aren't they, glossy without looking gloopy and as you say the shimmer isn't overly visible which is great for shimmer haters like me! Pretty.

ReplyDeleteBoom Chicka Wa Wa *does the MB lippie post dance*
ReplyDelete@Debbie: It found it impossible to load a lot on, it seems to apply as quite a thin layer. Definitely no gloop.
ReplyDelete@Esther: It’s really nice, really fun.
@Irene: I hadn’t used Max Factor for a long time (apart from mascara) until I discovered the Taupe eyeshadow on my ‘drugstore hunt’. It really sparked an interest. These glosses are definitely worth a look x
@Opal Stevens: Thanks for your comment. I will take a look at the blog hop!
@Kat: You might like these. It has the level of colour of a lipstain but isn’t drying or likely to show up lip imperfections.
@Leanne: Thank you. I think both are very me somehow x
@Alice: Thank you for your comment.
@dempss: I really like both colours, these are both going to get a lot of use.
@Skin Scrubs: Ha ha! I’m going to have to send you a special MB smooch as your wedding present ;)
Thanks for your comment,
