Confession is good for the soul, go ahead and unburden yourself! I promise I won’t judge.
My first lipstick was Bon Bon from 17. A lovely frosted pale pink shade that I thought looked particularly fetching when accompanied with lashings of black eyeliner and my best 13-year old sulk. I also used to pluck my eyebrows into thin little caterpillars, and 15 years later am still paying the price, with patchy, slightly uneven brows to contend with every morning.
My other bad habit, which I’m afraid continues to this day, is having woefully neglected feet. I deal with them once every six weeks or so, and then let the polish get chipped and grow out, and only do something about it if I’m terribly bored or am forced to get my feet out in public. If I was a millionaire, I’d have weekly pedicures. I absolutely hate doing it myself and am not very good at it.
Is the Pixie really hiding hobbit feet? |
There, don’t you feel better now?
I do, if slightly ashamed.
Aunty Brown has a few more questions though; it’s true that I’m the nosy type.
When was the last time you visited the hairdresser?
September 2010. I am suitably ashamed. I absolutely hate going to the hairdressers, ever since I went when I was 11 and the hairdresser refused to cut my hair because she discovered I had nits (for shame) and so only go when needs must. I am making an appointment soon though. It’s got desperate.
You have a choice: bad hair or bad nails?
Bad hair (see above).
What is the oldest item of make up in your collection?
Probably a Laura Mercier lip stain in Mulberry, which is just over two years old. I’m quite good at using stuff up or throwing old stuff away, plus I don’t have an enormous make-up collection so not a lot of stuff languishes in drawers for very long.
Which trend still makes you cringe?
Visible lip liner. Need I say more? Exhibit A:

Thank you PP. I owned Bon Bon, as did virtually all of the girls in my class! I'm pretty sure it came out as a frosted brown on me. Fetching! Can I just say, I never thought I'd see the day that Big Brother would come to this blog! It's shocking to think that the first series went out over ten years ago now.
If you would like to take a turn and unburden yourself in the Friday Confessional you can email me at modestybrown@googlemail.com. It's open to everyone: if you have something to confess, I'm happy to hear it!

Oh god i'm one for neglected feet myself :/
ReplyDeleteI admit I'm awful too. I've confessed before that I've 'touched up' my pedicures instead of starting all over again. Ooops!
