RBR Murmurings Sheer Lipstick

Rouge Bunny Rouge Succulence of Dew Sheer Lipstick in Murmuring is a very recent purchase. I wanted to take advantage of the Zuneta GWP offer last weekend and this was one of my two RBR purchases. The colour is described as a wet effect, sheer, cool damson which I think is a good description. I'm not sure I'd say that it looks like I've eaten a bowl of cherries as this is too cool on me to give that effect. I have fallen in love with the colour though and if you're after a sophisticated sheer, this could be for you!

It's a slightly see-through, cool plummy mauve. I like the level of pigmentation as although it's a sheer it definitely adds colour. Like other RBR lipsticks, it feels beautifully moisturising and it has their signature bullet shape which fits the curves of the lips really well. Like all sheer lipsticks, it won't last through eating so you may need to reapply more often than you would with a regular lipstick.

I'm so pleased I gave this a try. I'd really dismissed their sheer lipsticks before assuming they wouldn't add colour to my lips but that's definitely not the case with Murmuring. With the current trend for sheers, these are well worth a look.

  1. It looks lovely on you! I'm happy you liked it...
In my opinion, these definitely trump (hope I've spelled that correctly) the Chanel Coco Shines for longevity, moisturisation, and overall ease and comfort of wear.

  2. Very nice! I haven't tried their sheers yet but this colour looks like a good one. I think it reminds me of one of the Becca lipsticks that I like. I think the bullet shape in RBR is the nicest and sort of cute!

  3. This is such a nice shade- so natural but with a little oomph. Again, I wish I could see this line in person.... =)

  5. @Nina: Thank you so much for planting this seed :D. I love the colour! I really enjoy applying RBR lipsticks, a mixture of the shape and texture so I'm probably with you on it trumping the Chanel.

@Meeta: I agree, I love the RBR bullets I wonder how the lighter shades are for pigmentation? I think I need to ask the RBR oracle aka Replica!

@Jeanie: Thank you, I wish I had counter access to RBR too. I'm threatening to arrange a trip to Poland or Italy so that I can go and look in person too!

  6. This looks lovely. I like the idea of sheer lipsticks, especially with darker colours - much more wearable! x

  7. I love this lipstick and for my skintone it is a very "my lips but better" colour. I get a lot of compliments when I wear it. It is a lovely sheer. I love RBR although it is quite expensive. My order from Zuneta arrived in Canada within days. Their customer service is excellent.

  16. @BBB: I agree, some colours that are a little scary in an opaque version are lovely in a sheer formula. I’m very pleased I bought this one.

@Anna: It has become a new favourite. How lovely that you’ve had compliments when wearing it! The Zuneta service is excellent within the UK and I’ve heard before that they are speedy with International deliveries too. It’s always great to hear this as it makes me feel confident about recommending them to people overseas.

@renee: RBR lipsticks and eyeshadows are probably my favourite thing from their line. Although expensive, you can really feel the luxury rather than wondering why the extra cost.

@luv2smilexo: Hi! I think that’s what everyone wishes! We don’t actually have RBR in the UK either, it’s online only for us too. I did have the great pleasure of seeing it all in the flesh once at a special event. I could hardly tear myself away!

    @Stina: Thank you!

@dempss: I have the lovely Nina to thank for this colour choice. It’s the colour I had to dupe when I copied her look. Once I’d looked at the description of the colour I had to have it!

@Claire: I’d love it if they set up shop. I wonder if somewhere like Liberty might be a good choice? I know Selfridges can be a bit like the Lion’s Den for brands! They do have counters in a few Countries (Poland and Italy definitely) so it’s not beyond the realms of possibility.

@Debbie: Thank you! I was really pleasantly surprised by the pigmentation for a sheer. It’s become a firm favourite already.

@Zuzu: Hi! Thank you. My RBR list is ever growing too!

@Replica: I wonder if you’d thought it might be too dark? I’m very pleased with the colour and have Nina to thank for planting this seed ;)

    Thanks for your kind comments,
    Jane x
