Mother's Day Ideas: Mandara Spa at Sainsbury's

I was sent some products from the Mandara Spa range recently and I thought it would be an ideal time to mention them in the run up to Mother's Day. The range includes Body and Bath products, hand wash and hand cream as well as gorgeous diffusers and room sprays. There are five scent ranges: Tropical Blooms, Honeymilk Dream, Amber Heaven, Island Paradise and Citrus Spice.

The scent diffusers are beautiful, the fragrance drifts quite a way from the source and I love catching the scent as I walk past. I find the grapefruit and lemon scent of Island Paradise particularly uplifting. I'm also quite hooked on the Citrus Spice fragrance which I have as a room spray. The mix of ginger, bitter orange and nutmeg works really well together. The jars of Pampering Honey Bath are the sorts of products that look great in bathroom and make it look more like a relaxing haven. It certainly makes a change from all the Halos and Horns tubes that sit around my tub!

At the moment the Mandara Spa range is being sold at an introductory offer at Sainsbury's. I noticed they have some lovely sets which I think would make perfect Mother's Day gifts. For example the Blissful Bathing Set at £8 or the Honeymilk Dreams Heavenly Hands set at £6.66. Just in case my husband is reading, one of the bottles of hand wash would be very well received. I don't ask for much you know but it's the simple things that can easily turn a chore into a treat. Though of course, if you have a more generous family that can take a hint, you might want to turn your attention to Mandara Spa itself. I hear the Balinese massage is very good! Disclosure: These were PR samples. I will however be going to buy a hand wash if someone doesn't take a hint.

  1. These just look lovely - especially the diffusers and that lovely jar of Honey Bath!

    Sadly I don't live near a Sainsbury's though :(
but may have to seek one out in the next few weeks.

  2. You know, I thought of you as I was writing this as I think it's a really 'Makeup Savvy' post! Mandara Spa is a sister brand to Elemis and the products are so lovely. They're well priced anyway but well worth snapping up whilst on offer. The diffusers are really nice xx

  3. Ooooh, these look nice!
Thanks for this Jane, I think any set that includes a hand cream would be perfect for my lovely mother-in-law. She is totally committed to taking care of herself and I have to say that at the age of 91(!!!!) she looks all of 65 and has the hands of someone even younger...impressive to say the least.

  4. I saw these in my local Sainsburys and thought they looked rather lovely, but it is a bit difficult to buy for my mum as she doesn't like to deviant from what she uses but I think the hand products she might like.

  5. I thought these sounded gorgeous when I read about them on Vex, then totally forgot about them again....thanks for the reminder, not that we really 'do' Mothers day:)

  8. Little bit struggling with why you'd go to a spa when you can buy the products in Sainsbury's? Am the same with the Dove spa concept. If I'm going to pay someone else to scrub and pat me I want them to do it with something more exciting than a supermarket three for two!!

  9. @Nina: Wow, that I incredible! I imagine it’s a really good advert for taking care of yourself?

@Meeta: I think the range is really nice. The diffusers and room sprays are probably my favourite bits as it’s nice to have a fresh smelling house!

@Sparklz and Shine: We don’t really ‘do’ Mother’s Day either apart from cards. It’s why I don’t like to push my luck too much! I like that it’s a reasonable priced way of making my home look and smell a bit more grown up.

@Skin Scrubs: Oh no, that is so annoying. I suppose it’s subject to all usual substitution and omissions as the rest of the grocery shop, I hadn’t considered that. I hope you manage to get hold of some.

@Jenn: I agree, I think they look lovely and do a great job of scenting a room. The make my rooms feel more ‘grown up’.

@BBB: I don’t think I’ve across the Dove Spa before. I think the idea of a spa visit really appeals to me just from the point of view of peace and tranquillity. It’s been almost 5 years since I last visited a spa or had a massage so it’s been a while!

    Thanks for your comments,
    Jane x
